For anyone who is looking for a way of cleansing your stones without water (for ex: the halite or the iron pyrite) here are two dry options:

 

1) Try burrying your stone in salt in a bowl and bless it at the new moon to cleanse it under a new moon, or charge it under the full moon...

2) If the soil outside is dry, you can bury it in the soil over night to allow it to charge and align itself with the Earth.  This should also cleanse it of trauma it might have sustained before you bought it, which is really great for new stones especially...

 

I have done this before because I enjoy using very delicate stones including dessert roses made of gypsom which would dissolve in water, these are gentle means of cleansing and charging those minerals and stones/crystals that are too sensitive to water or moisture to hold up to the usual treatment.
