Reconcile

I met with the ladies this evening as we usually do on Wednesdays....we were a small group but it warmed my heart to see how they are opening up to new ideas and ways of being.  I have so much admiration and love for them all.

As Ireland is a predominantly catholic country, it can sometimes be hard to try and discuss now ideas that could allow space for inner conflicts if it makes people question theri religion.

I have been trying to figure out how to introduce new deities to them and then decided my beloved Kwan Yin would be a place to start.

Her love and compassion is well known and so I took the bull by the horns and gave it a go.

I placed two figurines that a dear dear friend gave me and lit a candle between them.

At first the ladies thought they were buddhas.....but they had their tea and a little chat and then we got into it.

I told them the story of Kwan Yin and who she was and why I personally am drawn to her....one of the ladies then felt she was very similar to one of the aspects of the Virgin Mary and of course she was right. There are similarities.

So rather than go in knocking their faith/beliefs, we found a middle ground.  it was wonderful to be able to share this with them and now they also know of this gentle deity.

 

Wonderful and I have huge heart smiles :)
