In April in the Northern hemisphere the thunderstorms of March begin to subside, and the wind picks up. This is a windy month in many places, and the seeds of spring are being blown about on the breezes, spreading life all around.

This lunar cycle is often known then as the Wind Moon or as the Seed Moon.

Trees have buds on them, spring daffodils and tulips abound, and the birds are nesting once more.

Much like March, this is a time of conception and fertility and new growth.

Correspondences:

Colors: Bright primary colors: red, yellow, blue and combinations there of.

Gemstones: Quartz, selenite, angelite

Trees: Hazel, forsythia, lilac, willow

Gods: Ishtar, Tawaret, Venus, Herne, Cernunnos.

Herbs: Dandelion, milkweed, dogwood, fennel, dill

Element: Air

 

This is a good time to work on magic related to new beginnings. Like bringing new love into your life, or conceiving or adopting a child. This is the time to do those workings.

It's the time to stop planning, and start doing. Take all those ideas you've had brewing for the past couple of months, and make them come to fruition.

 

Many different spiritual traditions honour and incorporate the moon cycles in ritual ways. Many people who are spiritual do not necessarily do moon related rituals but have an appreciation in general for the influences of the moon and take this into account in some way during the changing of the moon cycle.

I regularly don't do anything special at fullmoons, but I like the atmosphere that is created and use the moonlight to cleanse my Hematite.

Well, I think a friend of mine will take the opportunity to use the moon-harp I gave her just recently. For those not knowing what a moon-harp is (I didn't knew either just before a month ago):

You can use it by writing a wish on a small piece of paper which is to be folded afterwards and to be hung on the string of the harp. The moon-harp should be placed in the moonlight of the full moon to fulfill its purpose. But when it comes to wishes you should always articulate them in a positive non-harmful way, so don't use phrases like "I won't be sad anymore" or "there will be no obstacles in my way". Instead you could wish for "being a happy person" or that "everything good should come towards me".

I mostly do a lot of moon gazing myself... keep the curtains open, sometimes have a hot tub and enjoy the moon light... I know some people think of that as moon bathing... being nude under the moonlight is supposed to be good for you, as the moon's rays are thought to transmit various kinds of beneficial energies... I do feel enlivened by the moon, but perhaps it's just it's incredible beauty.

Sometimes it's effects on my hormonal tides will make it difficult to sleep, the moon seems to give me energy, can make me wired. I do try to put that energy to good work, but I don't usually use directed ritual for that... more just intention.

I know many people collect herbs by the full moon, and picking them at that time is said to make them more potent. I know others place out water or other elements to be charged by moonlight and use them in the creation of spell work.

I live with three Scorpios and my own Moon is in Scorpio too so each Full Moon we all get a little bonkers here. Lol.

Every Full Moon I send Blessing Thoughts towards the Moon. I thank Him for All the activity that He Brings to our Earth and always ask politely, that He treat our World with Kindness. :-D

Run Naked through the paddock again wearing gum boots. Might be a little chilly this time round but if  run, then I wont get too cold..................*giggles*

 

On a serious note, have to anchor the crystals on my land again and ask them to guide whether or not we will be selling and moving or staying on our land.

 

And laying ALL my babies (ie Crystals)) to bask in the moonlight over night.

I am taking a shamanic herbalist course that takes place on the full moon. So Tonight I read about the violets and the fae. It was wonderful. I will finish up with some meditation later on hopefully if these kids ever go to sleep. LOL

I don't practice anything LOL.. But I like the full moon.. It is a time to reflect and ponder.  It is like a time where great inner wisdoms can surface.  Tonight I need the wisdom.. therefore I will sit and gaze.. with an open mind and heart to see if I can hear what I must. :)
