The theology at the heart of the tradition begins with the Gnostic cosmology: the Monad, the Pleroma, the accidental creation of the Demiurge - the lesser god Timothy identifies as the God of the Old Testament - and the material world as a prison dimension from which souls incarnate repeatedly until they achieve Gnosis and return to the realm of light. The word Baphomet decodes through the Hebrew atbash cipher to mean Sophia, goddess of wisdom. Mary Magdalene represented Sophia embodied. Jesus represented the Christos. The rose cross symbol traces to the Egyptian underworld beneath Giza - a tunnel network known as Rostau, transliterated by the Templars into Rosa and Tau - and to the Kabbalistic image of consciousness blooming from matter. This symbol is encoded into every Gothic cathedral the Templars funded, with alchemical stages depicted on the doors of Notre Dame at head height. The Rosicrucian Order, Freemasonry, and the founding of the United States were all expressions of the same Templar transmission - a single thread of knowledge running from Atlantis through Egypt, the Druze, the Sabians, and the Sufi traditions to the present day.
