                                                     BIG LEGGED WOMEN  

 

          If there is such a place as Heaven

          It's foretaste must be in the thighs

          Of a somewhat chunky Texas girl

          Seriously Texas sized 

          

          If all my dreams of love came true 

          They wouldn't be too complicated

          Just naked and swimmin'

          With big legged women 

          Beneath a summer sky of blue  

 

          If this seems to you a shallow view

          Of this thing we call being in love

          Then go take your flights a la Wuthering Heights  

          Just leave me a big legged woman or two

No, thank YOU !!! This poem was partly inspired ( aside from big legged women ) by a parody of the Popeye theme song we sang as kids which went... 

" I'm Popeye the sailor man

  I live in a garbage can

  I loves to go swimmin'

  With bow legged women

   I'm Popeye the sailor man."

I saw the Robert Crumb illustration and was inspired (and maybe a little aroused) to write this poem. We had our own versions of all the cartoon and commercial songs from TV. Most of them were about seeing other people's underwear or bathroom functions. LMAO just thinking about some of them and what nasty little kids we turned into despite the nun's best intentions. Glad you liked it. Do you celebrate " National Talk Like A Pirate Day" ? It's sometime in September. Be well and have fun and make noise.  marK
