NOT ALL OPTIONS ARE EVER REALLY ON THE TABLE, I MEAN - EVER!

We grow up being "Made-to-believe" that we are "In-charge" of our life, we are solely responsible for our Success or our Failure...

As time goes by and we find a good place for ourselves in life...
Ah then, we like to boast and we often tell others how We "worked hard" for this or for that...
Etc...
But truth be told!
We have NEVER EVER been, we will never ever be and we certainly are not 100% In Charge of, in Control of What Happens To us whether individually or collectively!
Why?
As a difficult Species with tendencies toward self-serving "wilful ignorance" and "wilful intellectual dishonesty", we forget to factor in to our calculations / assumptions, the Mighty Presence of Nature a.k.a. Circumstances much beyond our Human Controls!
We may work hard, but so do many other people all over the world, however not all people who work hard become successful, folks.
We may think that we are in charge of something, but Circumstances will always have the final word on the Result, and on the Outcome of that.
If you do not believe it, try to win the lottery!
Somebody somewhere sometime somehow has to win it!
Even if you think it is all fixed, just only one single (Favourable) glitch in the works/systems, a sudden Something which can actually happen, that alone would suffice to make you the Winner.
It is all Accidental when you factor in the Natural Circumstances which are always out of yours/mine/our control.
If you walk up to a lady in a club/pub to start conversation and try to pick her up... 99% of that is your hard work and effort, but that sacred 1% of Nature/Circumstances, if it does NOT kick in, and in your favour, then she will always say no!
That promotion, that job application, that career, whatever, you do 99% of the Go-Getting-It but the 1% of the Mighty Circumstances count harder than all that you can do and will always set the outcome 100% of the time.
So in the end, as a Species, we can not Do / Be / Have All and Everything that we may want.
Something can always "happen and stop us" from getting it, whatever it may be!
And in fact, knowing how unenlightened, how brutal, how wilful ignorant, wilful intellectual dishonest our Species can be...

Ah well!
Thanks Goddess for the Natural Circumstances outside of our Human Controls! I really appreciate the fact that Our Species does Not have a final saying in all and everything!
