The gift

It came with magnificent mountains that stand sentry over the valleys and plains.

With sunrises that light the mornings with fire, and the colours of the rainbow

Where the sun greets the mountain tops each morning with a warm kiss.

Emerald landmasses and tundra, white with new fallen snow.

Living crystal blue waters winding through the land bringing life

as it flows and cascades over the high places, singing it's song.

Waters teeming with life, an underwater fantasy,

a world within a world.

It came with the most wondrous garden, growing wild and free

with pathways to walk in, hills to climb

trees beckoning with outstretched limbs to be touched

winds that dance with the butterflies and caress the face

Pathways to wander and places to rest your weary soul

Herbs and flowers that heal and speak of a loving Creator and of the Creator in us

In colours that none could match.

Look down and plant your feet in the sweet soil of home,

Gaze upward and see the skies painted with the brushstrokes of a master artist

Let the sun warm you on a cold and rainy day ...

and dance in the shadows of the moon.

It is a gift

and in return, all we are asked is,

to love it, care for it

and do no harm
