Long into the
night she lay
awake and alert.
Her mind racing,
her emotions pulsing
like a storm brewing.
Silent darkness.
Stillness, breathless.
Silence except
for the blood
coursing
through her veins.
The visions she sees,
the emotions she feels
all prevent the rest
she needs
coming to her.
She longs for her love.

in the night
beside her.
