Ancestral Love

[L. Love]

She looked out of the window
into the blackness.
She was all alone
except for the wisps
that moved around her.

She sighed...
her breath 
misting up the window, 
creating little rivulets
trickling down the glass.

A wispy hand touched
the side of her face.
Cold. Lonely. Loving carresses.
An icy chill ran
down her spine.

How long had 
she been alone?
It seemed all her life
but was she?
The light beings 
move swimmingly
in and out of the room.

A noise, a whisper,
she hears faint words
in her ears.
Words of love and
words of tranquility.
A faint smell of roses
fills the room.

Who is there? 
She asks.
Tis us, is the reply.
A tear gently slips
down one cheek.
They wait for her,
to see them, to hear them.

She looks out 
into the blackness.
A single white feather
falls to the ground and lands
beside her feet.
Could it be?
Are they real?
She looks into the glass
and sees a wing tip.

A sense of an arm
around her shoulder.
A hand seems to clasp her own.
A feeling of complete and utter love
overwhelms her.
She knows she is loved.
