A Warrior's Prayer

Great makers,
See me, I am your child, sword and light.
I am come to this foreign shore once more
to lend my strength.
Forgive my occasional weariness and doubting,
it is a difficult battle.
The Mother is under seige from every direction,
Her air tainted and hard to breathe,
her waters polluted, and land going to waste
so that many go hungry.
Tall sentrys stand everywhere, emitting invisible arrows
that bring disease and cloud the mind... many sleep.

Sometimes I feel like a Templar
fighting some impossible crusade.
The fight is daunting and I pray for victory.
Still.. Ii feel the shifts as the planet begins to right itself.

There is a truth about this place,
It is beautiful, and I love it in my way,
for, everywhere, I see your love in its making.
I feel it in the wind on my face,
see it in the colours that no other can match
and when I roam the ancient forests.

And, when I ache for my own home,
I turn my eyes upward, toward the starry night sky
and I see the masterwork of your own soul
painted in the heavens.
Then I know, All will be well.
With feet planted on Earth, my spirit soars upward,
and in those glimpses of home
my heart swells.
This human shell is too small and fragile to bear the joy of it
and must overflow into tears.

Creators,
I bow to your wisdom
I honour my sacred journey here.
Please look upon one small warrior with affection,
guide my footsteps to the right direction
and the edge of my sword to the heart of the enemy,
and let this work be done.
