- Bachelors in Liberal Arts, short stint in the Army, lived in Turkey for two years, now work at an archive. I burn a lot of incense. Go to the occasional art opening. I love my two cats. My totem is the red fox, but squirrel has a lot to say to me too.
- My Teachers & Influences, What was it about them that influenced me?
- I was brought up fundamentalist. I am now a member of the Episcopal church which allows for an open intellect. So, Jesus, but without all the hating, has always been a big part of my life. His teachings against hypocrisy, his ability to see through the facades of holiness some people wear, and his mercy, all inspire me. I found Edgar Cayce when I was in high school and found him fascinating. After reading one of his books before going to sleep, I had a dream that I can't remember, but I woke up knowing that I hadn't wanted to come back to Earth this time, I was encouraged to. This from someone raised fundamentalist. He opened doors for me. I played the lead of G.B.Shaw's Saint Joan while in college, which was a turning point as well. There were times when I did not remember having gone out on stage. It was also the first time in my life when I felt like I was REALLY good at something. It helped with my confidence in many ways. I started studying with the Builders of the Adytum a number of years ago and appreciate their non-flashy approach to study.
- Authors, Books, Music, Films, Art I appreciate:
- Paul Foster Case, Jason C. Lotterhand, Catherine MacCoun, R. Ogilvie Crombie, Ted Andrews, Patrick Dunn...I read mostly non-fiction, but do love me some Jane Austen knock offs for a nice fluffy read, or a "cozy" murder mystery. Right now I am reading The King's Grave by the lady that spearheaded the job of finding Richard III's grave.
