I heard somewhere that in order for an arrow to soar towards it’s target it must first be pulled back far enough to have the power to reach it’s target.

Sometimes in life we fail to recognize the value that can be gained from stepping back.  It could be in our work, things don’t seem to be moving in the direction we would like, yet maybe if we step back for a moment we would see more clearly.  It is impossible to properly aim at a target you can not see clearly.

Other times we must let go of what we have worked for and earned because of timing or possibly finances. Yet if we step back and realize while we worked hard for these things they are in fact only things.  Life and what matters isn’t made of the actual things themselves but the moments we had and the people in our lives.  One thing society has proven is that it is possible after stepping back to go even farther forward.

The thing I have learned the most from stepping back is to remember the lesson in all of it.  To always be aware to not repeat what has happened if at all possible. Don’t be afraid to step back, to regain focus and give yourself the knowledge and power you need to hit your new target.  Be like the arrow, flexible and take the step back as a push towards where you know you can be.
