Witches are always looking for fun new ways to do divination. Tarot cards and reading tea leaves are great tried-and-true traditions, but I think it's fun to try something unconventional to see what we can ascertain from it.Pull out a random book from your collection and flip to a random page to get your message. This works best with novels or poetry books, but try it with whatever you have lying around. You can pick a book at random for something more exciting, or if you have a novel where you know the theme, go ahead and go with that.Start by asking yourself a question, or if you want to keep it interesting, just flip to any page! Start at the first paragraph on the page and read until you feel you have enough information. Take some time to see how the question and the message connect. Keep an open mind and get as creative as you'd like with the interpretation. The point is to have fun!
Juniper has long been used in the Ozark Mountains for smoke cleansing, especially in the home. We use our native red cedar, which actually isnandrsquo;t a cedar, but a juniper, Juniperus virginiana. Common juniper works just as well. You will need:1 part juniper berries or red cedar berries, crushed1 part frankincense resin, crushedMortar and pestleIncense charcoal and holderLighter or matchesCrush the berries and resin together in a mortar and pestle. Light your incense charcoal the add a pinch of the incense mixture. Beginning at the front door of your home (inside), move through the entire home in a counterclockwise direction (the direction of removal). End at the front door. Step out the door with the incense burner. Let this burn out completely. Throw any cooled ash into a moving body of water.
This protective spell is especially helpful for parents with small children who may have trouble falling asleep at night. Envision a bright, sparkling silver sphere of glowing protective energy around, above, and below the bed, as your child is snuggled beneath comfy blankets. Point toward the east, and draw a circle around the bed. Then make a circle from ceiling to floor. A flashlight beam can also be used to point and draw the circles. Chant:Circle, circle, 'round my bedWhere I rest my weary head. In its glowing silvery light, I will spend a restful night. For children who fear the dark or monsters under the bed or in the closet, use water infused with lavender, rose petals, and /or mint. Strain the herbs out and pour the water into a spray bottle. Draw a colorful label that says "Monster Repellent." Use it to squirt around and under the bed. Children can join caregivers in chanting:All harmful forces, go away! Only blessings will remain!
The word felicity means happiness, joy, and delight. We all can use some encouragement at times, and this bowl will do the trick. Select a small bowl of your choiceandmdash; no bigger than a cereal bowl, and smaller if possible. Over time, add items that please you: ceramic figures, crystals, natural items (acorns, seeds, etc.), pins, beads, marbles, or anything. The only criterion is that each makes you happy. Each time you add an item, say:Precious bowl of felicity, Treasured items are given thee. Purify the bowl with your choice of salt, smoke, or dried herbs and keep the bowl on your desk or altar. When you need inspiration, select an item, hold it in your hand, and say:Precious bowl of felicity, May this treasure inspire me. Care for the bowl, and it will continue to bring delight.
Cast this charm when you need to get in touch with someone but they're not responding as quickly as you'd like to calls or messages. Find a leaf, and on one side of it write the person's name you are trying to reach. Write your own name on the other side of the leaf. Think about the person and their energy as you hold the leaf. Visualize having with this person the conversation you desire, be it by phone, message, mail, or an in-person meeting. Imagine the details of the exchange you wish to have. You might visualize seeing the email or receiving a message notification, or imagine hearing your phone ring or opening your mailbox to find the letter you've been awaiting. Then hold the leaf toward the sky and say:Winds, hear me! Have (state person's name) contact me! Throw the leaf straight up over your head as you walk forward beneath it.
