Did you know that the people of the United States, who are known for living in the land of the free, are actually quickly losing all of their freedoms as the government and large corporations ensure that the land becomes the home of the enslaved. Did you know that in the states of Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Colorado, have already made it illegal for quite some time to collect rainwater on your property? The United States is now pushing to make it illegal according to many officials, the rain belongs to someone else. The earth gives water freely. I personally find it hard to fathom how the government deems it their right to make it illegal for individuals to collect rainwater that falls freely from the sky.
I know it sounds so bizarre that this should even be an issue for modern societies, but there are laws already in place in many western states that restricts property owners from “diverting” water that naturally falls on their land have been on the books for quite some time. Just recently as severe droughts have ravaged some western states, has the interest in water conservation become more common. A lot of businesses owners and individuals have renewed the butting of the head with law enforcement agencies over the simply practice of collecting rainwater for personal use.
Even though it has been scientifically proven that the collection or rainwater is the best method for the people and the environment, this issue continues to be visited time and again.
