Thank you so much Kim. As an urban dweller most of my life I have a deep appreciation for how a layer of snow can even make urban decay beautiful (at least for a while). I use snow as a spiritual image in my art and poetry a lot. Thanks again my friend.  marK

Now that I no longer have a job that involves snow removal I say " Bring it on !!"  It's the cityscape at it's most beautiful on a snowy night. I reposted this in anticipation of the first snow. Thanks marK

Snow

The day is cold the clouds leaden
The streetlights weakly reaching the sidewalk
Everyone rushing to reach the home and warmth
I in my home look out the window sipping my cup of hot chocolate
The steam from my cup fogs up the window and mellows the starknes outside
As I turn my eye catches a a single snowflake slowly swirling down from above
A smile slowly creases my face
Tomorrow the stark scenery of today will soften
The streets and trees will be covered with a soft white blanket
The dreary streets of today will become a wonderland of white beauty in the morn
The people will walk with smiles as they remember their fun days of yesteryear

Thanks for the most excellent reply H. The first snow of the year is always a spiritual experience for me. My brain shifts into an entirelt different mode when I watch snow falling. I love it.  marK
