BEATNIK COFFEE

 

In the hours of beatnik coffee

The synthesis of Mingus

And reefer grown in river mud

( Tom's Missouri Mule)

Lit brighter fies deep inside of us

Than we deserved. 

 

In the hours of beatnik coffee 

Developing the callouses

On our fingers so we

Could wring out a truer resonance

From theses rented rusty instruments
