A Moment on Lynch and Jefferson ( City Driving )
Three illegal U turns
You'd think I'd have learned
The way by now
But city driving drives me crazy
And the gas company
Has dug up the street again
Wasting a shaded parking space
But it's Sunday morning
Semi-Ghosttown, the safest time
Of any to be there
In the crumbling geology
Of Rust Belt days
A piss-ant economy
In full sway
My friend and I smoke the peace pipe
And decided we were glad
To have lived through (at least)
A long gone golden age

cherishing ur wonderful way of bring back those by gone times of yesteryear of the "golden age", is not difficult 4 me, dearest marK. u have that unique quality of being "u"...straight 2 memory land & candy land 4 me.

"Three illegal U turns", making you and a faceless, solitary friend "misdemeanor outlaws", before both of you can arrive at some abstract, forgotten space for a transient, fragile peace.
Any contemporary urban community must be some kind of a semi-ghost town, I guess, before anyone can inhale any whiff of serenity in that space.
Solitary alienation from the environment and from each other, the empty featureless face of loneliness and isolation masquerading as peace in the neon-lit paradise of quick fix and cheap thrills.
And a "piss-ant economy in full sway." Are these long gone days called the Depression era, or the present?
The ticking of the clock is getting increasingly louder.
Some "walk their walk" in life which I feel that you do
I do not resonate with bull##it
I resonate with this!
Many Blessings D<)M(>
