I wrote this while I was in a wilderness area alone and on vision quest
It was a beautiful quiet night, I had paddled a canoe up river to a place of peace.
I wrote this by the fire one night.
Night Sky,
Alive with the fires of heaven,
Shining beacons we call stars,
hosts of angels watching over
spinning planets and life we have yet to discover.
Even now, bursting with activity of impending change that will soon come upon us.
In contrast to all that,
I lie here in the quiet of night,
enveloped by a darkness lit by soft starlight.
I keep your spirit close for comfort and warmth,
you say it is always with me, and I believe you.
The spirits of the ancestors share my fire with me
I am enfolded by the wings of my guardians for safe keeping.
I am one small thread in this web of life.
Still, I have my place here as beloved child of the makers.
I look to the only mother I have known here, the earth, to sustain me,
until I return to the only home I can remember.
My eyes search for it and strain to see its' light
in the vast sea of stars above me.
I whisper a small prayer to them...
"don't forget me" I say.
"don't leave me behind", my deepest fear.
"How will you know where to look for me? Or will I have to go to you?"
Tomorow I will stand in the river, on the full moon night.
I will make my presence known once more,
And under the full moon I will send my prayers.
"Please, Hear me, see me, I am your child,,
May the time of changes come swiftly,
May your hand steady those who will quake with fear at the sight
of the heavens exploding and the shaking of the earth.
May angels accompany the souls of all.
I ask a blessing for the Earth and all who walk upon it.
I ask a blessing For those you sent here from far places, my brothers and fellow warriors
I ask for your tenderest love and kindest understanding for us,
we have done our best, we are wounded and limp along. and sometimes our best seems weak.
We have stayed long in our service.
And I ask a small blessing for myself.
Take me home,
breathe life into me again
awaken my heart to joy again,
let my spirit open again as a flower does to the sun."
Tonight I sing a lullaby for myself that my grandmother sang to me.
I sing it to the stars and to those from my home, maybe they will hear me tonight.
'cante washte hoksila, logi ishtema,
hanhipe kin pe washte,
wey yah hi yey
wey yah hi yey"
"good hearted little girl, go to sleep
the night is safe, go to sleep, go to sleep".

Imani
a wonderful poem as well as prayer. Stay strong warrior woman.
Yes, it was a prayer
when I walk in the woods or on a shore like this I often chant
"each footstep is a kiss to earth mother, each footstep is a prayer of
gratitude" You become so mindful of yourself and your place within it all
I do my best to stay strong. I have my moments when I miss my home
but Gaia is a loving foster mother
Thank you
