There are some things you can't change, some things you can change but is not in your best interest and then there are things that you can change. You will have to develop some amount of clarity or find someone you trust to do divination to help you determine if your spellwork will be successful. This is how you make your spell work ethical. You can't trust outside authorities to tell you what is right and wrong, and you just have to develop your own internal ethical compass.
