A time to look within...

09 The Hermit

The journey up till now has been full of action and growth. Let's review:

 The Fool began her journey fresh and full of excitement ( a clean slate).

 The Magician taught her to use her tools given her to help shape her world.

 The High Priestess looks inward for help from her subconscious..

 The Empress is about birth, motherhood, and the feminine form.

 The Emperor mirrors the Empress with his masculine power and authority.

 The Hierophant is where the Fool starts to look outside herself toward the world and relationships.

 The Lovers is the result of those relationships...finding love.

 The Chariot explains how to negotiate through sticky situations involving different ideas.

The Strength of the Tigress gives us courage through life's problems.

Which leads us to the ninth (9th) card: The Hermit

 

09 The Hermit

 

Solitude and withdraw from the world is what the Hermit is about. Time for a respite, a pause in the middle of her journey. She has come so far already and is proud of her quest.

Lady "H" has her eyes closed and her hand on her heart symbolizing inward awareness, a moment to be introspective...quiet...without her senses getting in the way.

 

 

Her location is unknown...mystical white spheres float near by...in fact directly under her with clouds painting the remaining scenery. Where is Lady Hermit? Far from civilization that's for sure. A place she feels safe...noted by the white flower of peace in her hair. A place she is herself...in her own private world where she is transformed into a fairy-like creature for a time before she must return to reality.

 

 

The only company she has is a black bird of the night who speaks to her of the affairs from afar. Lady Hermit listens to the wise council given her and takes it to heart, for if she wishes to fly like a bird here in this world, she'll need to learn how to by someone who already can: her friend Raven. The Hermit understands her teacher's instructions and is already sprouting her own wings like a good pupil.

 

The Hermit card is about focusing inward...searching for greater understanding....receiving guidance from wise counsel...withdrawing from the distractions of others in order to recharge spiritually.

 

The journey has 12 more cards to encounter and learn from. Lady Hermit knows this...and she also knows this moment now is...
