~Silent Voices~

A man went for a stroll down memory lane

Tripped and stumbled

Fell on past pain

Face first—down a dark hole

The further he fell–the darker it got

Finally hit bottom,just like a rock

Silent voice in the darkness:

“Just stay there and lay still”

Memories start flashing through his mind like a dream

It hurts and its painful

He says: “why did this happen to me?”

Silent voice pipes in:
“Go ahead scream”
“I will teach you why you have a right to be callous”
“Fuck all of society they deserve your malice”

As he lay there listening to the voice in the dark

Inside his mind

He felt a great spark

It speaks once more:
“Get up you’re coming with me”

He struggled and managed to take one knee

A new voice appears:

“Don’t you go with the darkness,get your ass up and fight”

This new voice was silent as well but was harboring great light

The light he was seeing,it came from within

That was the moment he realized

[The voices were him]

Now the hole was bright and warm

Somehow he managed to conquer the storm

Up out of the hole,it was a new day

Now when he decides to visit memory lane

He sees the spot where he fell and felt all that pain

No more falling,no voice in the dark

It speaks no longer for it fears the spark

If you are ever in a hole all alone

I hope you carry with you the words in this poem
