11 Justice

The Wheel of Fortune gave us understanding that while on this Earth, things may not always go our way. Sometimes the good lose and the evil win...but not forever.

 

Lady Justice (#11) is all about karma...setting things right and equal in the long run. The artist here did such a fabulous job of  symbolism, I just had to highlight this painting as my favorite.

 

First impression of the card is the lady is nude. There is nowhere to hide when dealing with karmic justice. You may lie to yourself and others...but The Divines will see and this lady's job is to make sure it does.

 

Notice the purple surrounding the area save the bright white light directly over Lady Justice. It's the same purple from the High Priestess card:

Remember her secrets she was holding? They no longer are needed...acknowledgment of the truth is...time to be accountable and to set things right.

 

Her tattoo of the scales of justice remind us of that fact. Balance of equality, fairness, impartiality, and adhering to a code of ethics are all what the scales demand.

 

Lady Justice follows these standards herself. That is why she keeps her gaze away from those she is judging for as not to taint her decision.

 

And her decision is symbolized by her blade across her right forearm and palm...within easy reach to act swiftly (right hand denoting power and authority).

 

The Justice card may appear in your reading when it's time to come clean, fess up to the situation, and take ownership of your actions. Other times Justice might represent the law or a decision about to be rendered on a matter. She's also the warning "You reap what you sow".

Karma will find you one way or another so recognize your actions have consequences...

...or you may be the one under the bright light of JUSTICE.
