A fictional tale of the wandering website visitor...

On another site a curious person writes and asks me about the Temple. "Hi there, I'm interested in learning more about your site Temple Illuminatus, I've been thinking of joining another site, and maybe leaving this one, as I don't have a lot of time to spend online."

I reply "Why are you thinking of leaving here?"

The curious person, "well, all the sites I've been on, this one included, people are so judgemental, opinionated, there's a lot of people that are just crazy or weird, and a lot of really stupid people. I just want to be a part of a site where people are as intelligent and as enlightened as I am. I just haven't made any friends here".

I reply, "Well, I think you'll find my site is actually a lot like this one in many ways, I've found pretty much, wherever you go, people are the same, you can check it out, for sure, you'd be most welcome, but I'm not sure you'll find it much of a better fit to be quite honest".

They didn't respond to me, and I didn't see them join the site in days to come...

The next day on the same site another curious person writes and asks me about the Temple. "Hi there, I'm interested in learning more about your site Temple Illuminatus, I've been thinking of joining another site, and maybe leaving this one, as I don't have a lot of time to spend online."

The curious person, "well, I love it here, the people are great, kind, open minded, giving, it's just maybe time for me to explore somewhere different, I just have a curious nature, and I know my friends from here will keep in touch with me either way"

I reply "Well, I think you'll find my site is actually a lot like this one in many ways, I've found pretty much, wherever you go, people are the same, you can check it out, for sure, you'd be most welcome, I think you'll find it a really good fit." :)

I welcomed them to the Temple shortly after...

I like Anais Nin's quote that essentially says we don't see people as they are, we see them as we are. :) Thanks for your insightful comments Kaydon.
