"Gateway" - Multimedia Sculpture by Christian Sydow
An absolutely fascinating little sculpture I came across years ago...and I have had little success whatsoever identifying this artwork's purpose. Of course, by examining this intriguing artist's presentation closely, an admirer can glean quite a bit of personal insight...
Approximately seven inches in height - the obverse of this artwork is comprised of fired ceramic, thrown pottery and an inviting cobalt-blue glass............ "portal"...?
...perhaps the reverse view of this enigmatic artwork (revealed in an accompanying photo) - provides clues to the mysteries which this sculpture provides.
