Upon reflection, it is true that we can only really trust ourselves and our Deities; however, i do feel that there are levels of trust.

The problem is, that once a high level of trust has been breached, it is very difficult to regain that same level of trust that we have invested in another.

For example, hypothetically speaking, of course... if one had to receive an unsolicited mail from one of the people whom you trust on a level, especially with regards to friendship and what one would normally expect from such an individual in relation to mutual friends and aquaintances; and the mail deliberately slated one's very good friend in no uncertain terms - does one ever really trust that person again to the same degree?

And, if one receives such a mail, and does nothing about it, then does this not imply an understated support of such an action? 

On the other hand, when confronted with the facts, the guilty individual clearly has a choice. A simple retraction and heart-felt apology all round would be great - instead though, we have, in this hypothetical case, someone who reacts with absolute harshness, and a whole lot of transferral of blame onto the one who recieved the mail from him? Go figure. I guess the Truth hurts, and that is understandable. 

I forgive, as I welcome forgiveness, naturally, and no-one is perfect, however a little humility and openness from the sender of the poison would be much appreciated. In the meanwhile, life goes on!

Well said, Cian ~ forgiveness, mercy and compassion, topped with a generous portion of LOVE is the winning recipe.

however, trust is earned.

The Law of the Goddess, is Love unto all beings ~ today is global freedom from hunger day; and my heart goes out to all the millions of people around the world who live below the breadline. It kind of makes me look at the whole issue of waste, fad diets to lose weight etc differently when I see pics like these.

If I may, imagine the difference it would make if every world government donated 10% of their annual weapons expenditure to addressing the root causes of hunger- not just the symptoms thereof, mind ~ I bet no-one would be hungry ever again?

Thanks, Swirls ` you know, even in the midst of living through a betrayal by someone who I trusted and had thought was on the same wavelength, I find a safe haven with the Goddess. 

A word of caution to all ~ be very careful exactly whom you place your trust in, there are some around in close proximity who do not actually have one's best interests at heart.
