Welcome to the group!

The worship of the Goddess and God of Nature is incomplete without the embracing of both Yin and Yang; female and male; Night and Day, Water and Fire. A balanced spiritual seeker will know that it is within that balance that eternal happiness, contentment and prosperity on all levels manifests.

Most Gods were actually Goddesses originally ~ and as the God comes from within the Goddess; Light from Darkness; this group is here for those who understand the working of Nature, where all is equal and nothing is above any other.

The God is the consort, brother, child, husband and other half of the Great Goddess,who was First; and we are here to honour this Perfect Androgyny in male form.

Our God of Many Names is not the authoritative, stern male god of the patriarchy; rather , we venerate the Divine Masculine Principle of the Universe as the complementary Light side of the infinite Darkness in masculine form.

Comment by Zephonith Serpent Woman on November 29, 2013 at 9:21am: As the circle and arrow co-joined is the original symbol of the God of the Sun and Life; so the x-shaped cross and circle above it is the very ancient symbol of the God of the Underworld and of Death.

This symbol evolved to become the skull and crossbones, and was used to signify the Goddess of Death as well as the God of the Netherworld..

The cult of the Dead has roots stretching back into the farthest antiquity.

Originally, captains of trading ships who were members of the Old Religions hoisted the Skull and Crossbones to signify their allegiance to the Old Gods. As time went on, and the wealthy nations started to hire mercenaries to attack the ships of other nations on the high seas, the once venrated symbol of the Gods of Death was turned into the international symbol for piracy and murder .

Yet another symbol turned into a symbol of evil, whereas the symbolism behind it is of Death, the transitory stages between lifetimes.

Speaking of which, I thought to post a poem by one of my favourite authors, Charles Godfrey Leyland in the discussions. Care to join me, anyone?
