Diana, it is terrible, and often one can feel powerless when you see these things horrible things happening in the world.

What's important to realize is that remaining unaware of these horrors pays a terrible price, it feeds into the dynamic that allows it to happen.

Things that are so terrible that we should not be able to witness them without being deeply affected should be too terrible to continue. We need to become aware of them often globally before change can happen.

Use your awareness to bring more awareness to others. Sometimes there is no way that you can help. Other times, there are small things you can find, petitions online, places you can donate funding to, or groups and forums like these where you can post links and discussions to the issue and encourage others to look, become aware, and share.

Just getting the message out, and getting your outrage over it out, and express your position, influences others to do the same, it's these little ripples of personal expression that start to resonate and more come together and it forms a larger movement, a wave, and those waves keep getting bigger till you finally have something powerful enough to affect change. The message gets delivered to where it needs to be, at the social volume it needs to be at, in order to make the necessary impact.

Your 'witness' of these events is an important process, if it causes you to encourage others to bear witness, use the heart break to take even the slightest action... as you've done already by just posting your comment, and you've added a bit more volume to the growing social voice of protest.

You may have noticed, that unfortunately OneCrow is no longer with us.

There was a copyright violation, completely by accident, on her part. The person who had written the article, joined the site, and requested we edit it. I complied, and posted to inform OneCrow of the situation.

In my post, it seems I did not make the situation clear enough, and OneCrow received the impression that I had written the article, and was taking personal offense. She felt attacked by me, and treated unfairly, expressed this, and left the site.

I have no way to reach her, to try to clarify this situation, but did respond to her goodbye mail even though she had left, because sometimes it will still forward to recipient depending on the email sent. So I'm not sure if my apologies for the misunderstanding, and my attempt to clarify what the situation was, and how I really felt about her, have reached her at all unlikely.

Regardless, I have always had a big spot in my heart for both OneCrow and this group and project that she has worken for and given so much toward.

I would like to keep this group going in honour of her.. Since she is no longer here, much of the description in the group text above was no longer relevant, as it discussed what she would be posting, etc, and obviously she is no longer here to post. Since I had to change the wording anyways, I changed some design elements as well.

I have kept the favourite quotes she posted, and the video on extinction as I don't want to erase her memory from this group.

Please feel free to post any of your own interests and projects related to online or 'real life' activism.

Together, we can be the change in the world.

OneCrow, you will be missed, but your legacy here, will never end, and we will be waiting and happy to return the group to you, should you ever return.

I came across this image and thought immediately if this group, so re-sized it for an icon. No pressure to use if you prefer the one you have, just thought you might like it. :)
