If you have the time & inclination to be extra 'welcoming'

One of the things that can help a new member get their bearings is to connect with groups of like minded people.

Not everyone lists their interests on their profile, but for those that do, it's often easy to see that we have groups that would be of interest to them.

Sometimes when I have the time.

When I'm welcoming new members I open a second window to the groups directory. When I see an interest they've listed, i.e. I'm interested in learning about wicca. I pop into the other window for groups, type in Wicca, & get a list of groups. Then, I just copy & paste the group icon & linked title using my mouse from the group page into their comments box!

Usually I preface it with something like, Hey, welcome to the Temple! I noticed you had an interest in Wicca, here are a few groups that might interest you to get you started! and post something like this afterwards.. All the best, Leila - Temple Welcome Wagon Crew!

But whatever style you'd want to bring to it would be fine!
