There's nothing wrong with having a little fun, but don't justify your use with spirituality when it's really just entertainment. I have a strong harm reduction streak and I have a lot of compassion for chronic users. Many cultures use ethnogens as part of religious practices, but if you don't have that background and training you're just participating in cultural appropriation. The results you get from the use of substances are not the same as the results you get from disciplined spiritual practices such as prayer, chanting, drumming and meditation. If you're just consuming cannabis, hallucinogens, alcohol, tobacco and other such substances for fun then that is what it is and don't claim that you know how to use them for spiritual or religious purposes. If you do actually belong to a religious tradition that uses these types of substances within the tradition then more power to you!
