life in a semi truck

I was going to make a video of this, but time and memory is short. I was asked by someone to make a post on my experiences being on the road so I am going to jump into it... first off would like to say how I feel that truckers are greatly under appreciated for what they do and go through on a daily basis.. the days are long and the nights are short, at the end of the day your bones are hurting, and your ankles are swollen.. your back stays stiff, bound to a chair for hours daily, you have no time to stop and enjoy scenery, no time to read a book.. even when you are stopped you are waiting and preparing for the next long haul across the United states. . As my father once said to me, you wait to wait some more... you get dirty stares from passers-bys, the look of disgust. You deal with cars cutting you off daily, and those who think you can stop on a dime.. you can not go where you want to go, you have rules slapped across your face, one violation can cost you everything. . No one chooses this life, and many can't handle it. It hurts you both mentally and physically. No one wants this job, most have no choice to get this job. It plays with your head daily and the lonesome days kill all joy you have.. there is no escape from the mental torment it brings to you..the life of lone wolves.. you deal with so much others could not bare to go through. . I have watched people getting out of their trucks barely able to walk, many are like this, some days my father is too.. it's not easy.. and if only others knew how hard it is to be in, or to even experience a week of it, I think you would have more respect for the drivers delivering all of you things to you...

Wow Kallica I had no idea it was that rough. I knew it was hard but not that h ard. I imaging you really look up to your dad more now knowing what he does to put bread on the table. Im glad you had the experience of going and learning and I hope some of it was pleasant. at least being wiht your dady was I hope. thanks for posting this

Thanks for sharing this, Kallica. My grandfather's wife used to be a trucker and has shared a lot of similar experiences. I can't even imagine how stiff you would get after sitting for that long. Are you at least having a good time? It has to be nice to see some new places.
