7 of Cups - Dreams

You cannot hold back the pages of time by placing a broken watch within it's covers...

7 of Cups (7 of Water) "The Dream" (Osho Zen):

Here is a lady who is daydreaming of her "King" who will scoop her up into his arms and take her away from the misery that is her life. Looking at how her hands are clasped between her knees, you would think this lady is in no rush to make her dreams a reality, but rather just "wish" it to be so. Another form of this card has all 7 cups filled with all sorts of dreamy non-realistic ambitions (rainbows and dragons and castles and pixies...ok wait...pixies might be real..LOL).

The core meaning of this card is wasting time in your own fantasies and illusions instead of dealing with the reality around you and filling your cup with that ! Let's look back at our original photo from Alannah,,,

We have an open book with an open pocket watch within the book's pages...both surrounded by leaves that have succumbed to the new fall season. What's the connection? Just as pipe dreams and unrealistic goals are beyond our reach, so, too, is trying to freeze time by placing a broken pocket watch in between two pages of a book. The point in time will be frozen at that particular paragraph chosen, but time will continue all around as shown by the changing of the color of the leaves for fall ! It's a wasted effort! Dreams without correct ACTION will be futile and foolish. Instead....pick up the book and read life for all it's worth ! Maybe even fix the pocket watch to help you manage your time wisely ! Jump into the pile of browns and oranges and yellows with both arms open wide ! Time is short....so make the best of your dreams in the "Here-and-Now"...

...and watch out for Pixies...

...they don't like books lying around their forests !
