7 of Clouds (A need to remove our masks...)

How many masks do you wear throughout the day? How do they differ from one another? Do you even keep a "secret" mask that no one knows about?

To function in this world we often have to behave, look, and speak a certain way to fit in with our current environment. We may wear a certain mask at work, but replace it with another once attending school or our kids school as a parent. How about that mask we put on for the neighbors you can't stand? Ooo...and let's not ignore the church mask some of us have (Psst...and Rev. Bob has one too when he' s off the pulpit...Shh !).

It's like a game of POLITICS we all play with our minds. I say minds because we are really just kidding ourselves with the charades of "cloak and dagger". We know who we really are at all times...don't we? Maybe not. Let's find out...

Osho speaks about this. Although we may think we are benefiting from the wearing of so many masks in this game of life, we are actually fooling ourselves into believing that we are these facades over time, and by doing so, become not any of them... but worse....FACELESS!

We lose our center...our self worth....because if we had self worth we wouldn't need to hide our face...be ashamed...be fake! Is it really necessary to hide behind what society deems acceptable? Is it really all that bad to be our true nature? Some would say "yes"...that we need this "filter" to continue to play the game...be accepted. To that I say "in a way" but only to the point that we don't compromise our beliefs or self worth. Nothing in this life has the right to strip of us of our being.

To get rid of the masks...to wear our true face...is to make the statement...
"Here I am..."
"this is my spirit...this is who I will be !"
