"Regret: Why didn't I join the rebellion?"

   Here we have an angel sitting on a step, contemplating his past choices...feeling regret for some of them. What? You don't think angels have free will too? Well...ever hear of the most famous of them...Lucifer? He chose to go his own way once. Took a few with him.

   Now, for sake of starting an argument, let's assume I neither approve, nor condemn Lucifer for the choice he made (I'm not even acknowledging he's real or not...it's just an example I'm painting here). He felt the need to remove himself from the norm which he felt was restrictive. Our blonde angel is beginning to have second thoughts on joining him (as seen by the feather from his wing in his hand...the feather he has pulled out as an act of defiance). What this troubled angel doesn't realize is this is a common emotion he is experiencing:

REGRET...and it is common even for the "dark angels" !

   Here this dark angel has pulled out a few of his wing feathers and thrown them up in disgust. "If only I had remained with the Light," he shouts out to himself. With all his freedom, he still regrets the action he took.

   The 3 of Swords is about heartbreak, sorrow, longing of the heart, and even regret. It seems "the grass is always greener..." saying is true for both our angels in this example. But what are they to do? They feel there is nothing that can change their mood now...except...making another choice ! That's right ! Who says angels don't have a free will? And what of us? We also can make our own choices on a matter...and then turn right around and chose the very opposite if we fancy ! This is part of being human: the freedom to make mistakes and then learn from them. Depending on your stance on life, either angel could make another choice to better "his" situation. We are not stuck EVER as a label of "this" or "that"...a "nerd" or "jock"..."quiet" or "outgoing". Life is about "choices" and even if they might have consequences attached to them, at least they are OUR choices to make...not someone else's for us...

...because that just wouldn't be FREE WILL now, would it?
