Yes, indeed - Medusa is a Serpent Goddess, very beautiful - and very misunderstood.
Once upon a happier time, Medusa, Neith and Athene were the Triple Goddess of North Africa - distinct faces of One Goddess - until the lies of patriarchal religions changed everything.
Sister turned against Sister - much as Inanna was supposed to have chased Her Sister, Lilith, from the Tree - and the male-dominated religions have ruled on the principle of divide and conquer ever since then.
Why did Medusa turn so many to stone? Because they came to slay her - not the other way around. There would be no Witches left by now if we did not know how to defend ourselves against unprovoked aggression from bigoted fools who refuse to see the Goddess within or without, and wish to harm others simply because they are not of the same dominant belief system ..?.
