This dance is one of the oldest known dances, still performed by maidens of the Venda peoples and others throughout Africa. It is called the Domba, or Python dance, and is a very ancient ritual dance.
The sinuous motion of the Python, or Great Serpent , ensures fertility. luck and good fortune for the participants and the children.
