The Triple Goddess

This is a group to honour the Great Goddess in all of Her many aspects, and by myriad Names, as Maiden, Mother and Crone.

To reconnect with the Divine Feminine - the Goddess archetype and Her three faces, is vitally important in order to restore the essential Balance that humankind has been struggling without for the last couple of thousand years.

Goddess Chant - Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hekate, Demeter, Kali, Inanna... The Triple Goddess welcomes you!

"Trying to understand the archetypal image of the Goddess can be the work of a lifetime. When one realizes that She is both a single archetypal Entity and also a trinity of aspects, the understanding becomes more complex. Complex, but clearer in many ways and more comprehensive. For the Goddess is everything to all of Her creations, and especially to both women and men.

She is the beginning and the ending and everything in between"

Hello, I wonder if anyone else is having such a nice weekend?

I thought I might share a picture of the Goddess which also incorporates some Goddess Ideals. X

A representation of Goddess Bast and Goddess Sekhmet. The Red orb or Disc represents the Life Force, protected by enveloping Horns-yes, Horns were always a Goddess symbol ~ and a sacred Asp, or Cobra entwined around the Solar Disc of Life.

The Uraeus is a symbol for the goddess Wadjet, one of the earliest of Egyptian deities, who often was depicted as a cobra.

The center of her cult was in Per-Wadjet, later called Buto by the Greeks. She became the patroness of the Nile Delta and the protector of all of Lower Egypt, so her image was worn by the pharaohs as a head ornament, first as the body of Wadjet atop the head or as a crown encircling the head, always remaining in effect part of their crown, indicating her protection and as a claim over the land" http://www.crystalinks.com/uraeus.html

Wadjet is wed to Hapi, the Androgynous God of Fertility, the Light-bringer and Divinity of the Nile River ; Guardian of Nature.

Goddess Wadjet is synonymous with the Milky Way , which appears as a Cosmic Serpent. Goddess Wadjet's symbol is  the Uraeus . Fire was heaped on the heads of the enemies of the Sun God, or Dragon of Ancient Pagan spirituality; from a distance by the rearing  Uraeus Cobra, when the Natural Balance was disturbed by excess.

And Wadjet, The Serpent Queen, transforms in an instant and appears as a Lion Goddess; working with Sekhmet to maintain the Balance of the Universe.

Wadjet is closely associated with Goddess Bast ~ As in this depiction from the Temple at Hatshepsut ~

Nekhbet, the Vulture Goddess and Wadjet the Cobra Goddess, with the Eye.

Ah that's better, for a moment there I thought I wasn't allowed to post pics any more lol

If it is my current profile pic you refer to, Ambersway, yes it is probably one of the oldest symbols of Goddess. If not, then here may be some information of interest ~

Before the Eye became the symbol associated exclusively with Horus, it was the Eye of Wadjet and by extension, the symbol of the Ennead of First Gods.

The Eye of Wadjet, the Ancient Egyptian Cobra Goddess, one of my Patron Divinities is also the Eye of Ishtar , Lilith and Medusa ~ and all aspects of the Divine Feminine..

It symbolises the fact that nothing escapes the vigilance of the Goddess and represents the Third Eye or Pineal gland.

The Eye Goddess shares the same symbols as Inanna; the Serpent, Dove and Double-Axe. There are many examples of Eye Goddess statuettes and figures from a Temple of Inanna in Tell Brak.

The Eye , which was used to stare back hostile elements from entering the Goddess temples of Old in a similar way to the Gorgon's visage is also known as the Evil Eye.

This is a warped description of the natural ability of every woman to protect from as well as project harm onto aggressors. No wonder it was so feared by those who desecrated our ancient Temples of Love and razed all of the sacred Groves to the ground.

In medieval days, Witches were blindfolded to prevent the use of the Eye against their accusers when being led forward to be burned alive or tortured..

Misuse of this natural gift which every woman and men who are Goddessians possess will result in severe consequences according to the Law of Threefold Return.

The Law of Goddess is Love unto every being, and the natural abilities we have merely need to be accepted and used within the framework of this Law to be effective.

In other words, anyone trying to use Goddess symbols and Magick for harm except in self-defence will suffer as a result. Rather ask the Goddess to resolve the issue, and She will decide what action if any may be taken. In emergencies, one's Intuition or Higher Self will guide you, always.

Anyway, This symbol I chose as I am an Ophite , a devotee who worships Goddess in the form of a Serpent. Lilith, my Mother, also appears as a Great Serpent and well, I resonate with all Serpent Goddesses ~ Isis, Kali, Medusa, Mami Waters, Tanit and many Others.
