The Triple Goddess

This is a group to honour the Great Goddess in all of Her many aspects, and by myriad Names, as Maiden, Mother and Crone.

To reconnect with the Divine Feminine - the Goddess archetype and Her three faces, is vitally important in order to restore the essential Balance that humankind has been struggling without for the last couple of thousand years.

Goddess Chant - Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hekate, Demeter, Kali, Inanna... The Triple Goddess welcomes you!

"Trying to understand the archetypal image of the Goddess can be the work of a lifetime. When one realizes that She is both a single archetypal Entity and also a trinity of aspects, the understanding becomes more complex. Complex, but clearer in many ways and more comprehensive. For the Goddess is everything to all of Her creations, and especially to both women and men.

She is the beginning and the ending and everything in between"

Oh and just one other thing- this writer neglects to mention that the term Virgin, does not refer to that somehow prized-by-men, "undefiled"(sic) physical condition of a woman who has never before had sex.

Virgin means pure as snow - in a spiritual sense. Artemis exemplifies this ~

"The goddesses have stories to tell. One such story—far too long ignored—is that, in their original, unadulterated form, they were parthenogenetic. The wordparthenogenesis comes from the Greek parthenos, 'virgin' more or less, andgignesthai, 'to be born.' It means, essentially, to be born of a virgin—that is, without the participation of a male. For a goddess to be 'parthenogenetic' thus means that she stands as a primordial creatrix, who requires no male partner to produce the cosmos, earth, life, matter and even other gods out of her own essence. Plentiful evidence shows that in their earliest cults, before they were subsumed under patriarchal pantheons as the wives, sisters and daughters of male  gods, various female deities of the ancient Mediterranean world were indeed considered self-generating, virgin creatrixes."

Dr. Marguerite Rigoglioso, Virgin Mother Goddesses of Antiquity

On this point, the Celestial Goddess Neith was probably one of the first Virgin Mothers of the Divine Child.

Christ-na , also known as Krishna, also had a Virgin Mother.

I guess that some things change, yet stay the same in essence despite the meddling of biased religionists?

Hi! Welcome to the group, Justin, and Bright Blessings to you :)

Pepper, I was doing some more research yesterday and was absolutely shocked to discover the website which referred to the Phoenix as those things.

Not that I am surprised at anything said about our Divinities by certain conservative quarters anymore. In fact I find it all rather amusing and really pathetic, seeing as the ones doing all the talking have never even met even one of the Deities before..

Then on the next site, I see that some more advanced spiritually inclined Christians identify the Christ with the Phoenix. Now that's progress!

Oh well, the Goddess just carries on as She always has.

Hi Janet ~ I just simply love that pic:) And yours, Justin

LOL ~ Lots of Love ~ and happiness to All.

Loving the info and I never knew the Phoenix was seen as evil in some quarters!!  I love all this learning with you all :)

Love and blessings to all my brothers and sisters here <3

Far from being "the anti-christ symbol" and "resurrection of Satan" as per the usual boring fundamentalist views on our sacred spirtuality; the Phoenix, like the Serpent, is the symbol of regeneration, transformation and resurrection.

According to legend, the Phoenix is practically immortal. An individual Phoenix lives for hundreds of years, and then sojourns in Heliopolis,  building a pyre from scented and aromatic herbs and spices such as Frankincense, Myrrh and Cinnamon.

Laying a single golden egg of Creation first , the Phoenix self-ignites and burns to ashes within the blink of an eye.

Anmd a new Phoenix arises from the ashes of the Old.

The phoenix is also to be found in various ancient texts such as in the Epic of Gilgamesh ~ the Zu bird which lives in the very crown of the sacred tree as well as in the image and representation of a flying demon, the Ziz bird of medieval Jewish rabbinical lore .

As a matter of interest on the side; the Ziz bird represents the Phoenix or Zu, the Sacred Cow is named Behemoth; and the World Serpent, Leviathan according to this warped interpretation.

The Phoenix represents the moment of spiritual awakening! However this is an originally Pagan tradition, and relates to the very beginnings of human spirituality ~ thus, the Phoenix had "become evil", only in patriarchal times..
