Goddess  Nephthys, The Revealer, sister of Au-Set; beloved of Azar ; Mistress of the Dead ~

"I am your sister, Nephthys"

The Serpent God, Set, is the consort of the Goddess. Set and Nephthys represent the winter and the desert night, personifying the Yin of the Yang of Azar, Au-Set and the Divine Child, Horus.

Nephthys and Isis always worked together, as is the way of Nature ~ just as Set and Horus are Osiris and Ra

The Dark Goddess in the Tomb of Seti 1. It was only in the later dynastic times, that Set or Nephthys were ever seen as somehow "evil". Prior to this, it was common custom for Pharaohs to be entitled "Beloved of Set".

The tale of the murder of Osiris is based on a far earlier Agricultural Myth, relating to the seasons. For example, in this context, all people growing plants right now are attuned to Isis and Horus; while where winter approaches swiftly, one is in the realm of Nephthys and Set. I like to compare this to the tale of Kore-Persephone and Demeter. 

The Dark Angel is the angelos of the collective subconciousness. When a seeker is scared of the Dark, it means, and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, that there is some inner work to be done before progressing . If we don't acknowledge the Dark Goddess in our lives, then we can't experience the Light to the fullest, either. 

If we have an excess of Sun and Light; harm can result by the over-application of what is commonly perceived as "good". This is in itself a misnomer, as all of the elements and powers of Nature are neutral. It is how we use them or relate to them, that makes anything what it is..

To Pagan people, the concept of an evil God clearly lies with patriarchal human interpretations and not with reality. Dark Gods such as Set, Loki and many other ancient Pagan Divinities are viewed with the same fear, hate and distrust as the Christian Devil, who was actually named after Sutekh! (set-satan?)

The Goddess teaches me that in life, there are ebbs and flows, bends, diversions and rapids along the way. Perhaps even a whirlpool or two ~ and that it's absolutely pointless to waste time and energy worrying or stressing in vain about things that are going to either happen or not anyways..

Allow the Dark Angel, Nephthys, to demonstrate how it is far better to bend as a bamboo grove with a strong wind than to be inflexible and unable to adapt to change. To roll with the punches and come back stronger than before, having learnt from every experience is a lesson well taught, as whoever said that life is always easy hasn't lived here before :)
