Dear Zephonith...thank you for you message to all the group just a little while ago. I think it is the nature of the groups here, that people may have a perception of what they are and then realise it is not for them. Other members contribute little but enjoy reading and gathering information.

I honestly can say that never have I ever found anything you have written as contentious. I have always found all you have written to be well researched and a thoroughly enjoyable read.

That said, the Goddess has many forms and as such, often we may perceive (as in many religions today), our belief to be the right one.  The Goddess is the Goddess, no matter which shape or form she comes in.

You have blessed us all with your knowledge and writings and I shall miss your daily interactions here.

I too hope members of the group will come forward and post their own thoughts, images or even to pass by and say hello from time to time.

The Black Madonna is also believed to be Mary Magdalene, holding the child of Issa..

In my own opinion, the Goddess of Ten Thousand Names does not put away one child for another, or reject one child in favour of another.

Black is the color of the Earth, and of Wisdom. Undoubtedly, Isis manifests as a woman with a dark complexion , and as anything and everything else SHE wishes.

The history of the Black Madonna is fascinating, as many believe that the Black Madonna is Isis or Lilith.

The Knights Templars fought for Christianity during the crusades; however they were heavily persecuted by the Church as heretics  thereafter, as they worshipped the Divine Feminine and Horned God of Nature in the form of Baphomet.

The Black Madonna has many forms - Our Lady of Einsiedown is a statue of Isis with Horus holding a bird in his hand.

Of course, as the Christian Devil was invented from Set, Azazel, Samael and other pre-Christian Divinities , so Isis and Horus were to become Mary and Jesus.

The original tales of the 'battles' between Set and Horus are legends which depict the natural opposition or contrast between Yin and Yang, Night and Day, Summer and Winter- however, by the Late Dynastic times, Set had become the origin of all evil and the prototype of the Devil.

Nonetheless, the statues of the Black Madonna are magickal and retain a feeling of incredible Divine power to the devotee of the Goddess of Ten Thousand Names.

The Black color of the Madonna is partly because Isis and Osiris are depicted as black to denote Fertility and the Earth, and partly because Isis and Osiris are African Divinities.

Naturally, The Goddess can and does manifest in any form or appearance SHE wishes!
