SPELL-A-DAY

The good news is that today's date adds up to a master number: 4 (month) + 2 + 8 (day) + 2 + 0+ 2 + 4 (year) = 22. That's the Master Builder. Power on all planes. Practical idealism. Do you have an ambition? A big plan? A promotion? A new job? A proposal of marriage? An adventure? Today's the day to start creating your path to fulfillment of your big plan.Grab a pen and some paper (or your new Grimmerie from March 15) and cast a working circle around yourself. Lay bay and oak leaves for power and success in the elemental corners. Add malachite and green tourmaline (ditto), and lay a silver dollar in the north. Declare your intention (plan) out loud. Now call ideas to come to you. Write them down. Make necessary revisions to your notes. When you have a satisfactory plan, face north, speak your intention again, then clap your hands once and push hard to send the energy into motion and manifestation.

And when it comes to cleaning, what magickal Witch doesnandrsquo;t know the power of a broom? Today we are going work some broom magick!This day on the calendar occurs during the waning moon cycle, which is when the moon is moving from full to newandmdash;a good time for letting go. This is a good spell for cleansing your home or office space.You will need:andbull; 3 tablespoons saltandbull; A refreshing essential oil of yourchoiceandbull; 1 cup waterandbull; A broomAdd the salt and three drops of the essential oil to the water, then pour the water over the broom bristles. Use the broom to sweep your floors or any place that needs cleansing.

Sweet Dreams

Dreams free of nightmares are highly sought after. There are ways you can employ herbs to make this wish come true. First, fill a nice-size bowl with a mixture of rose water and spring water and place it under your bed. Push it under the middle of the bed. This is an invitation to the gods, goddesses, and water spirits.Next, make a sweet dreams sachet. Rub 1andfrasl;3 cup chamomile flowers, lavender buds, and jasmine or hops gently between your hands into a bowl. (Do not use hops if you are in recovery from alcohol.) This releases the natural essential oils in the herbs. Breathe into the bowl the intention to have sweet and meaningful, intuitive dreams. Take handfuls of the herbal blend, and into each one, breathe gently all your hopes for the blend. Put the herbs back in the bowl. Place the herbal blend in a sachet or two and put beneath your pillow. Sweet dreams!

A Protective Witch Bottle

The Sun is now in Taurus, an appropriate time for dealing with things that are material, grounded, and tangible. Use this spell to make a powerful protection amulet to place in your home. I have heard that traditionally Witch bottles were placed in chimneys, but not everyone has one of those these days. To make your Witch bottle, you will need:andbull; An empty, clear Christmas ornament(I prefer glass over plastic)or a small clear glass jar with a lidandbull; Some sea saltandbull; Some old rusty nailsandbull; Some black peppercornsandbull; A pinch of dried parsleyOne by one, add the ingredients to the container, saying:This strengthens and protectsme and all I hold dear.Close the top. Place the container in the chimney, under the stairs, in the crawl space, or under the stoop, or bury it in the soil. Do not speak of it and do not revisit it. Should you move, make another Witch bottle rather than take this one with you.

Be the Magic

Look for signs, be aware of synchronicities, pay attention to symbols, and notice omens.If you receive $7.77 in change at the grocery store, go look up the magical significance of these numbers. To ease the process, write the name of the type of animal you want to adopt on a blank piece of paper, and place it on your altar ( you can also make a general statement, such as “Let the right animal for me come to me”). Weigh the paper down with four stones: rose quartz for the love you will give and receive, smokey quartz for endurance of the adoption process, garnet for the commitment you will be making, and turquoise for the joy you will give and receive through the pet ownership. As you place each stone, speak your desire aloud:

Paw, claw, fin, or feather,
I know we will find each other!

Leave the message on your altar until your new family member joins you.

SIMPLE ITEM LOCATION SPELL

Items needed:

writing surface and writing utensil
pendulum (or a necklace with a large pendent)

Steps:

draw the layout of the area that you believe the item is located
picture the item clearly in your head and hold it there
take the pendulum and hang it over the picture, chant this “(insert item’s name) where have you gone? I’ve come to claim you from things lost. You are mine, and I shall find you”
continue chanting this, and allow your pendulum to move freely (it will direct you towards where it is on the map
