Comment by Mystic Wolf on March 16, 2020 at 2:41pm: Hi Elspeth, I am glad that you had the day off today. Woohoo!!! At the grocery stores they have the herbs out for sale like basil. Rosemary, Thyme, and Oregano but it is still too early to get them. I bought four basil plants last year around this time and they all died. So, I got to wait till at least mid-April to get them. We still have our weather extremes. Ugh!

There’s a whole process of paying attention to how your subconscious generates the creature, what they’re doing, how they’re behaving—are they aggressive or scared, are they ugly or menacing?

Then you, like, sit down and have tea with your inner demon. No, seriously, you start to befriend your demons. I know it sounds weird, but I tried it a few times and it was pretty cool."

It made me think about the multiple ways we learn to deal with whatever we deal with...anxiety, depression, PTSD, maybe even some physical illnesses. Too often, I fall into a "funk" and sometimes even shut-down for a while, days at a time sometimes, but when I come out of these episodes, I almost always feel guilty for not being able to deal with it better. I feel guilty for shutting down, for not just carrying on with life, whatever. I know all of the coping mechanisms, but I don't always utilize them. This book may just suggest more coping mechanisms, I don't know, but it has me curious...
