This in my humble opinion, Goldmund, is an indication that the person you are referring to is hesitant to get in touch with his Shadow, or Higher Self.

Just as Isis and Nephthys are known as The Two Ladies, symbolising Life and Death respectively, so we are reflections of the Macrocosm.

If a seeker is not ready to enter the Labyrinth, or take the journey to the Centre within, s/he will be turned back as the Goddess presents Herself in a terrifying form.

Due to the centuries long diabolization of the Dark Goddesses, many are terrified of the Dark Mother. This is simply because mainstream society will always do it's level best to keep one away from oneself, due to fear-based indoctrination that begins from an early age onwards.And it runs deep.

The gentleman is called , however he must do some inner work to allay any fears which are impeding his spiritual progress first. This is where the virtue of patience comes in to play.  Meditation on the causes , the root of the perceived fears and the realisation of how transitory and worthless these fears actually are, is not a process to be rushed.

When studying the mythos of Lilith as it appears in contemporary times, one cannot fail to notice that both Satanist and other Patriarchal religions all have the same descriptions of Lilith.

And these descriptions are fear-based and illusionary.

The Dark Goddess, whether She appears to one as Lilith, Kali-Maa, Tiamat, Persephone, Hecate or Medusa, is within all living beings. Denying one's own Dark side or Yin energies, creates a spiritual and biological imbalance that is the cause for the instability in our world of human society nowadays.
