These are Cosmic Ideals , which have their origins in deep antiquity - it could be said that these are the first set of spiritual guidelines that humankind were ever blessed with.
In Ancient times, there was no concept of a dogmatic religion, or any restrictive rules to follow, "or else" - people just worshipped the Goddess and adhered to these Universal Ideals, which, if they are followed ( and ideally used as daily affirmations), will encourage the seeker to become a citizen of the Universe and become as One with Nature.
The Goddess Ma'at derives Her Name form the root word "medha", which means Divine Feminine Wisdom, or in other words, "Truth".
The above set of Ideals were revised from the original, by Priestesses of the Temple Of Isis; to be more positive in response to changing times, making them more compatible with the demands of contemporary lifestyles.
Below are the original set of Ideals as transliterated from the ancient papyrus in care of the British Museum. It is interesting to do a comparative study on the two documents.

Well our best isn't always our very best, and as you say, it's good enough when the heart's in the right place. No one is perfect or they wouldn't still be here. It reminds me of something ~
