I was surfing around on a wave of nostalgia for an Age yet to come this morning, when I came across an interesting channel on You Tube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1qn2x2Z3BA&feature=colike

The video I watched was all about "Black" and "White" Witchcraft and the confusion this causes amongst some people who do not understand the fundamental differences between Dualism, or Patriarchal theories, and Nature-based Pagan spirituality.

Any true spiritual person in tune with Nature would never classify themselves as "Black" or "White" as per the perceived meanings of an absolute "good" or equally powerful, absolute "evil", as these are the concepts of Dualism, and come from the male-dominated Religions, or Patriarchy.

Black/ evil is not the same as Dark, while White/good is not the same as Light in our terms. The Black of the Yin is not evil, and nor is the White of the Yang, good as per the definitions of both good and evil according to the male-dominated religions.

A Nature-based Pagan definition of a Dark practitioner would be someone who may work with the Deities of Death, sex and the Underworld, and would perhaps venerate the Dark Goddesses such as Ereshkigal, Lilith, Kali ~ Maa or Persephone in Her role as Queen of the Underworld. The inner balance may then be achieved through working with , say, Nephthys and Her Sister of Light, Isis., or perhaps Horus and Set, or Diana and Lucifer,  just for example. Balance is the Key. Thus in true Pagan spirituality, there is no evil or black magic. That belongs to those who choose to rebel against, and thus accept the authority of , the patriarchal church establishment.

The Dark Mother refers to the Crone of deep and infinite Wisdom and the Abyss of outer space and the depths of the Ocean, which are synonymous in ancient mythological terms ~ the place where we all come from. This is not seen as evil by Pagans

The White in the Yin-Yang is the Male Divine principle, or Yang energies of the universe, the Light which complements and arise out of, the darkness of the Great Mother. Everything in nature has both negative and positive, male and female, dark and light, potential and action, Sun and Moon, within, as we are all miniature copies of the Macrocosm, the Whole.

Thus, an excess of either Yin or Yang can lead to unbalanced behaviour and actions that would have the potential to harm oneself and others if not remedied.

If we sit and do nothing, nothing happens.

If we act without planning, worse could happen.

When we contemplate and then act, balance and prosperity on all levels of being will probably happen, if it is our Will.

Nature is neither evil nor absolutely good and in fact, evil is specific to unbalanced human beings, who have an excess of unbalanced energy within and then intentionally harm others using that unbalanced force without, and thus affecting themselves and the environment negatively.

We are all interconnected, and every action and thought has an effect on ourselves and everything else in the environment.

So just to keep in mind that whenever anyone talks about themselves being a Black or White magician, they are practising a form of  magic which is unbalanced and comes from Dualism. These people still believe in the Biblical Satan.

Make no mistake, evil, independent of any religious meanings, in the form of people harming others intentionally except in self-defence, for example, the abuse of women and children and Nature in all ways; does exist, and the Devil exists as part of the mindset and thus the reality of billions of people who believe in him as firmly as they do their God.

The devil is actually an artificial construct, conjured up out of the febrile imaginations of generations of patriarchal scribes and is as fictitious as the Silver Surfer - as big an illusion as fear.

Nevertheless, thoughts do become things after all, and we must all choose to create the life we either love, or hate.

"He who can see through all fear, will always be safe" ~ Lao Tsu

Thus true Witches are not dualist, we are Nature-based Pagans and never worship a Devil or believe in a Hell. We are free of their judgement, and choose rather to live in Love, not fear or hate.

A balanced person is one who has balance within ~ not a practically unachievable, hypothetical "balance"  between patriarchal concepts of "good" and "evil", which is not in tune with the way the Universe works and thus causes harm; this Balance is between the equal, opposite and complementary poles within her/his (hir?) being, the male and female energies within every living thing in the Cosmos. The closer we get to Nature, the more balanced we become. This inner balance reflects outwards, and creates healthy, positive change in the environment.

One of the 42 Ideals of Ma'at is, simply, "I create harmony"

The Goddess is not the Biblical Satan, or Devil

Unfortunately, many associate the Worship of the Goddess, and Nature-based Witchcraft, the Craft of the Wise; with Satanism and devil-worship.

All Goddessians are classed as Witches, and not in a complimentary sense by many people, who adhere to the Biblical maxim of "Thou shalt not suffer a Witch to live".

This is because anything to do with the Old Pagan Ways were systematically demonised by the Patriarchy, and the Goddess, especially the Dark Goddesses of Death and Love, were even cast to be the devil himself, a fictitious character made up of a mixture of Pagan Gods and Goddesses by the Medieval Religions as a fear-based control mechanism .

Be this as it may, many people still believe in an evil devil, and as far as fundamentalist right-wing Christians are concerned, all those who venerate Goddess are actually paying homage to their devil.

The truth is simple, and it is not theirs.

The devil is an invention of the Patriarchal Church, and has no place in any Pagan Pantheon.

Our Ancestors worshipped the Great Goddess, the Divine Feminine Principle of the Universe, from the very beginning. There is more than just an abundance of proof to verify this. The collective conciousness of humankind still yearns for the Love of the Mother of us all, and it is indeed a great pity that many people will pass on without ever having known this Love in their lives due to the influence of fear-based religious teachings, which effectually remove people from the essence of Wisdom ~  knowing where we come from.

And where do we come from?

The Goddess!
