Shapeshifting [Knowing]: Roxanne Swentzell's "Emergence of the Clowns"
In PEM's original exhibition Shapeshifting: Transformations in Native American Art, Roxanne Swentzell is keeping the stories of her grandmother alive. Her "Emergence of the Clowns" depicts the story of four clowns, known to the Pueblo as the koshare, emerging from the underworld.
