Leviathan ~ Part Three

[Zephonith Serpent Woman]

The book of Baba Batra is another commentary which uses many Biblical citations to formulate a myth which supposedly deals with the End of Days scenario and the fabulous World to Come, where evidently, Leviathan, their personification of death, chaos, entropy and evil – a “Prince of Hell” will be smote off by the powers-that-be, and consumed as spiritual nourishment by the faithful of the Hebrew God.

Death and Chaos, both synonyms for Gaia and the Dark Goddess, were seen as somehow evil and threatening by the patriarchy. As natural cycles of death and life were to be replaced in the minds of others by concepts of a mythical heaven reserved for saints and a corresponding Gehenna, or Hell, a place for transgressors such as independent, liberated and strong (normal) women, all Lilin, Dwarves, black cats, snakes, Djinn and outspoken Pagans; the Dark Goddesses and Gods of Death were especially demonized by the new religions and falsely made out to be evil in every way imaginable, as part and parcel of the Great Deception..

In contemporary Medieval Demonology, a medieval invention, Lilith is seen as the wife of the Devil together with Naamah, Agrat and Mahalath. These “Queens of Prostitution” also evidently this devil’s wives ~ far from being the mythical rulers of a mythical “hell” or part of a supreme male Devil’s own personal harem; are actually based on the four ancient Goddesses of the Elemental Quarters of Earth, Air, Fire and Water in pre-patriarchal Pagan spirituality.

The Goddess mandala of ancient Sumer, which dates back to around 7000 BCE. The four Elemental Goddesses of Nature, are encircled and protected by the Scorpions, which are also sacred to the Goddess in Africa, the Near East and India. Quintessence is naturally in the centre of the Mandala.

 All of the Goddesses mentioned are aspects of the Great Goddess in the Ancient Near East, and were changed into the whores of Jewish/Christian mythology in the same way as the God of Nature, Lucifer, who was then called Sama’el(darkness/”adversary of god”), was to become their Devil and very warped version of Sat-an, Set or Sutekh, the consort of Taweret and Agricultural God of Winter, Lord of the Desert and the Night, the Serpent God; also known as Thoth, God of Wisdom, the consort of Ma’at; and Hermes, the God bearing the Caduceus.

So therefore it is plain and clear for all to witness how various male-dominated religions changed the ancestral legends and records to suit their own agenda and made “evil” the ages-old worship of the Crone Mother and Dark Goddess as well as all of the other Pagan Gods and sacred symbols in the minds of the people. No one can be blamed today for what was written in the past to turn people against their own Mother and reject their origins; however these false ideologies are still being promoted by those who want to retain control and dominance over the spiritual, political and financial affairs of humankind, for the benefit of the few and to the detriment of the many.

Just as Lilith, Naamah (the wife of the Sumerian Noah, Ziusudra, and thus one of the biggest unsung heroines of the human race) Allat and Igrath were “hijacked” and essentially given completely new identities by the Book Religions on paper; the Cosmic Serpent was in for a special kind of diabolization.

The serpent was venerated as possessing both Yin and Yang, and there were both Lunar and Solar traditions which emerged accordingly.

 

The God of Nature is synonymous with, or manifests as the Great Serpent or Dragon. Bel and the Dragon, Set and Apep; Enki, the Winged Serpent; Lucifer and the Dragon, are all synonymous and complementary aspects of the same Divinity.

Damballah and Aida-Wedo

Lilith is The Serpent; Isis is the sacred Cobra Thermuthis; and Kali rears up as a hooded Asp, ready to protect Her devotees and promising spiritual re-birth and rejuvenation.

Set , Anubis, Wepwawet, Maat, Thoth and other Divinities direct the passage of the Nun-Boat across the celestial heavens. Apophis, the Egyptian Leviathan, is always shown underneath the Boat of Heaven which is often shown with Ra and the Ancient Mariners on board, and Apep provides the primal and raw energies of Nature with which to suspend and propel the boat forward so the daily passage of the planets in the heavens can occur.

Set and Anubis are most often shown channelling the Dragon’s Breath, or geomagnetic and other energies of Nature in the most beneficent way.

Should Apep ever fail to arrive or die for some reason, the boat would cease to move at all, and the cyclical motions of the heavens would be lost to earthlings causing all life as we know it to cease to exist. In other depictions, various other Divinities such as Set in the form of a Hare, and Bast in the form of a Cat, are shown making incisions in the flesh of the Serpent. They shed the life-blood of the Serpent, so that trees may grow and bear fruit in profusion- there is no killing involved, regardless of what the amended patriarchal texts of Late Dynasty Egypt and the other patriarchs have to say about this spiritual process of partaking of the blood of the Serpent, which literally is poured out upon the Earth. Thus any myths associated with “slaying the Dragon” originating from the patriarchal writers in any context whatsoever, are false and are really only there to symbolize the so-called victory of the male - dominated religions’ Gods over the Goddess and God of Nature.

Nowadays in some traditions, Leviathan is seen as representing “Hell mouth”, the supposed entranceway to a fictitious hell of eternal punishment, and is, in this patriarchal belief system, one of the supposed Crown Princes of Hell.

Actually, from Native Australia to Mesopotamia, the ancients had a tradition wherein an initiate into the Mystery -  the greatest adventure of this lifetime, as Albert Einstein would say - would enter the mouth of the Dragon, or Great Serpent, as a first step in sacred Initiation of the seeker into the Natural Mysteries.  

These are really speaking, very ancient spiritual symbols which far pre-date any Book Religion, and the rites which have taken place at the sacred sites since time immemorial are very far removed from what some would call “New Age nonsense” 

The true meaning of the ancient Ophite (Serpent Worshipper) symbol, the Ourobouros, is not as it is portrayed by certain misguided patriarchal belief systems. These people have truly besmirched the symbols of our ancestors, who worshipped the Serpent as being literally the God and Goddess of Nature.

One cannot deny any aspect of the primal energies of the Universe, as the Ancient Nordic Serpent legends say that if the World Serpent, or Cosmic Serpent, ever looses it’s hold on it’s tail, and the natural and complementary bond and dynamic relationship between the masculine and feminine principles of the Universe is broken; then all creation would cease to exist. Likewise, should Apophis ever not arrive to power the Nun Boat of the Gods and propel it across the celestial heavens, there would be no periodic and cyclical interplay between potential and action in the Cosmos, no Sun by day or Moon by night, no periods of natural growth, maturity and decline, no rain, no sleep nor activity, no warmth or coolness, no laughter nor drama, no pain or pleasure, no spider or fly, no seed nor flower.

Serpent Worship, being a Goddess Religion, is possibly one of  the most natural forms of religion and worship. For we all have the serpent within. The Kundalini Goddess Shakti, lives within every living thing.

 

Let us continue, though, with the analysis of some additional Jewish texts which describe The Cosmic Serpent:

“Rav Judah said in the name of Rav: All that the Blessed Holy One created [in all] his world is male and female. Likewise, Leviathan the slant serpent and Leviathan the torturous serpent he created male and female; and had they mated with one another they would have destroyed the whole world. What [then] did the Blessed Holy One do? He castrated the male and killed the female preserving it in salt for the righteous in the World to Come; for it is written: “And he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.” And also Behemoth on a thousand hills was created male and female, and had they mated with one another they would have destroyed the whole world. What did the Blessed Holy One, do? He castrated the male and cooled the female and preserved it for the righteous for the world to come; for it is written: "See now his strength is in his loins" — this refers to the male; "and his force is in the stays of his body," — this refers to the female. There also, [in the case of Leviathan], he should have castrated the male and cooled the female [why then did he kill the female]?... [Because a] female [fish] preserved in salt is tastier…Then here also [in the case of Behemoth] he should have preserved the female in salt? — Salted fish is palatable, salted flesh is not.”

 

In this transparent attempt at demonizing Pagan symbols, it now transpires that there are not only one but two Leviathans, one in the sea, and one on land.

Here we have the first mention of another “monster”, Behemoth. “Behemoth”, as we shall see, is the second of three such “evil beasts”, created as both an insult and a parody of the Goddess and God by the medieval Jewish theologians. Behemoth is meant to represent both the Sacred Cow which is venerated as representing the Mother of Creation, from whose udders and star-filled womb the stellar milk of the galaxy emits; as well as the Horned God; as a central feature of all pre-patriarchal religions was the veneration of the sacred Horned beasts which are symbolic of Divinity. The Golden Calf was indeed also venerated and celebrated by the Hebrew peoples before these fantastic revised tales were written.

The horns were donned by the Goddess long before there was ever a male God, the other half of the Goddess herself. It can be said that all gods were actually goddesses to begin with, and diversified over time to become male gods, every one aspects of the Great Goddess and Perfect Androgyny.

.A literal castration of social and spiritual power was achieved by the authors of the Book Religions at one stroke, by reinforcing patriarchal stereotypes which class women as weak, deceptive and evil, and the men who worship woman, including the woman within of themselves, as even less in value. To don the horns was no longer a sign of authority and spiritual protection, nor was associating with the former priestesses of the Old Religion, now branded evil witches, recommended - unless a man wished to literally be ostracized and victimized by society.

Transparently, the male Pagans were, according to this plan, to be made socially unacceptable in terms of social status. The cuckold and the vagabond, cauldron-bearer slave, weakling and thief, homosexual prostitute, rogue and such were now to characterize the average Pagan male in an extremely prejudiced way in the eyes of the judgmental Jewish and Christian Fathers and thus broader society as a whole.

 It’s a fact that all of the Yang qualities of logic, rationalism and action have been promoted and encouraged within society whilst the Yin qualities of creativity, instinct and mystery have been devalued according to the dominant values of patriarchy and as a result of this diminishment, suppressed and denied to both women and men. This is why there is such a radical imbalance in society nowadays, as we do need both halves of our brains to be truly powerful, in other words, balanced and quite immune to fear and fear-based ideologies with their very damaging and harmful effects on the human psyche.

So we need both God’s sweet fresh water and of the salt of the bitter Sea of Tiamat, metaphorically speaking, to be powerful ~ as opposed to being obedient, subservient, socially acceptable and living up to the approvals of others, in other words, good and weak and respectable according to the norms and values of male-dominated societies.

The social and spiritual power of the Druid and Dragon Priest, formerly the cornerstone of society, taken away by brute force; it was now the turn of the woman, the Priestess and Witch, to be “killed.” This refers to the wholesale rape, torture and denigration of Pagan Priestesses, and also the attempts at the annihilation of the Women’s Mystery traditions and the criminalization of the pure and unadulterated worship of the Divine Feminine.

No wonder then the Women’s Magickal traditions and Women’s Magick – the Female Leviathan, were described as being “cooled”.

Of the Virgin and Mother aspects of the Goddess were incorporated into the religious control mechanism, as these were the least threatening to the patriarchy of the other aspects of the Great Goddess. However, their divinity and equal status with the new male hierarchy within the official religions was denied in the process.

Why only the fish to be palatable for these distinguished gentlemen of taste and sophistication? The Fish is the body, or spiritual being which feeds the multitudes and nourishes them. The Fish was always and forever the symbol of the Goddess, and the spiritual symbolism simply taken by the new religions to symbolize their own God and Messiah exclusively.

Goddess Tiamat, also known as Ma-Nu and Nommo, the primeval Goddess Creatrix of the Abyss, is mentioned in the beginning as the great Fish and Dragon giving birth to the multitude of teeming life forms on land. The origins of the mermaid ~ part Piscean, part human, derives from the many Goddesses manifesting and were portrayed as such over the span of millennia, such as Dercento, Melusine, Atargatis and Mami Wata.

 However, this selective appropriation and use of certain sacred Goddess symbols and traditions is typical of the patriarchy; and indeed, neither the Flesh, or in other words, spiritual substance/quintessence of either the Crone Goddess or the Horned God were at all and in any way, tasty and pleasant to these cultural and spiritual thieves in the night.

 It was only certain of the teachings and traditions of the Mother and Maiden Goddess, the Fish in this context, which were selectively taken and used by these people, to incorporate Wisdom into their own religion in a twisted way. If one analyses the various patriarchal texts it becomes obvious that these new religions simply overlaid the original Goddess spirituality with their very own version of the way in which the universe works. The Gods of the Old, became the Devils of the New, and the traditions were up for grabs, to be either rejected and demonized or altered, abused and misused at will. The preserved fish has been eaten and used in many different ways since then, after the sacred groves of Lady Asherah had been razed to the ground and the Temples ,sanctuaries and Dracontia had been demolished and the new churches, synagogues, Vatican cities, Churches of England, Taj Mahals and Mosques had been constructed on top and the ancient Goddess traditions rejected for those of the War Gods.

 

“And most surprising of all, when the final rectification comes, we will participate in perfecting the work of creation by literally "consuming" the chaos, both utterly dominating but also assimilating it into ourselves in a "nutritious" (rather than harmful) manner. This idea that in Messianic times we will banquet upon the Beast is derived from an enigmatic verse, Ps. 74:14, "...it was You who crushed the head of Leviathan, who made him food for the people of the desert."

Baba Batra continues:

When R. Dimi came he said in the name of R. Johanan: When Leviathan is hungry he emits [fiery] breath from his mouth and causes all the waters of the deep to boil; for it is said: "He makes the deep to boil like a pot." And if he were not to put his head into the Garden of Eden, no creature could stand his [foul] odor ; for it is said: "He makes the sea like a spiced broth." When he is thirsty he makes numerous furrows in the sea; for it is said: "He makes a path to shine after him."...Rabbah said in the name of R. Johanan: The Blessed Holy One will in time to come make a banquet for the righteous from the flesh of Leviathan; for it is said: "Companions will make a banquet of it…." Companions must mean scholars, for it is said: "You that dwell in the gardens, the companions hearken for your voice; cause me to hear it…." Rabbah in the name of R. Johanan further stated: The Blessed Holy One will in time to come make a tabernacle for the righteous from the skin of Leviathan; for it is said: "Can you fill tabernacles with his skin?" If a man is worthy, a tabernacle is made for him [in the World-to-Come]; if he is not worthy [of this] a [mere] covering is made for him, for it is said: And his head with a fish covering. If a man is [sufficiently] worthy a covering is made for him; if he is not worthy [even of this], a necklace is made for him, for it is said: "And necklaces about your neck." If he is worthy [of it] a necklace is made for him; if he is not worthy [even of this] an amulet is made for him; as it is said: "And you will bind him for your maidens."  The rest [of the Leviathan hide] will be spread by the Blessed Holy One upon the walls of Jerusalem, and its splendour will shine from one end of the world to the other; as it is said: "And nations shall walk at your light, and kings at the brightness of your rising."

Notice that in the end nothing is wasted and nothing is lost, either from us nor from what afflicts us. While not everyone is equal in merit, everyone gets a "portion" of the World to Come. And as for Leviathan, well, what once threatened to destroy us will in time sustain us; what once menaced the universe will ultimately serve to illuminate it.”

 

“He makes the deep to boil as a pot”

Right at the end of the above commentary it is said that Leviathan, far from being a threat to humankind, will feed the multitudes with spiritual esoteric and practical Wisdom, as it was in the beginning, in the Garden. This time around, though, the head of The Serpent was to be crushed, and the flesh salted to preserve it for use by the future generations, when the male messiah came to free his people from the Great Mother and from themselves and Nature. The head is the feminine part of the serpent, the receptive Yin aspect, whereas the tail is masculine, of action. Even nowadays in Astrology, we speak of the Head and Tail of the Dragon, comprising of the opposite nodes of the Moon

However, there is a caution attached to this wonderful tale of endless possibilities. Only if one truly accepts the reality that the Goddess is the Creator and was First; that all things are of male and female and that nothing is above anything else, can the true and non-poisonous Wisdom of the Serpent be revealed and consumed safely. Yes, Kundalini is within all humans; however, the PROCESS of awakening can ONLY be approached when the seeker is ready. When love  – and only true love - can transmute the potentially destructive venom of the Dark Mother if seen from the patriarchal perspective only; into healing and regenerative power never before experienced.

And that job of crushing the head of The Serpent didn’t really work that well, as attested to by the flourishing worldwide esoteric Pagan community worldwide nowadays and the massive revival of the Goddess movement.

 

After all, if one believes that Hidden, Forbidden and Concealed Knowledge is evil and all is read with the spectacles of fear, then perhaps it was better to not read anything to begin with, to ensure self-preservation. All the preserved (salted) and stolen, modified and tailored knowledge in the universe will not help when there is no True Spirit to give it flavor and essence,  just as music, when listened to without any heart, has no real meaning.

Love transmutes the potentially deadly poison of such knowledge from that which is harmful to the prejudiced and ignorant into that which is spiritual nourishment for the mind and soul of the Initiate, and while the sacred Magickal Wisdom of Goddess and God are life-giving waters to some, to the uninitiated and the ignorant thief, they can ensure disaster .Using magick to harm others or to gain control over another person’s spirituality and their lives will always lead to misery, no doubt. If you don’t believe me, take a leaf from Hitler’s book! Just as restrictions ultimately restrict the restrictors themselves, the oppressed often become the oppressors, in turn. The misuse of another ‘s sacred symbols will lead to disaster, and this pain is of one’s own making. There is no devil without, if there is no devil within.

Is the patriarchal tree not very sick indeed at this stage of our evolutionary progress through the multi-faceted dimensions of Space? How are the fruits of this patriarchal tree? How are 90% of humankind doing right now, as a result of the teachings and practices of the new religions? How many wars have been fought because these people perverted the Truth, and began to emphasize perceived differences and promoted antagonisms between people, destroying Nature in the name of civilization and industry, and reinforcing inequalities and discrimination? Do the rape statistics worldwide and the instability, poverty, critical state of the environment and the warfare currently dominating the headlines, reflect at all well on the patriarchal tree itself? 

We are all children of the Goddess and God, and the Kundalini lives within all living. Eve is the Mother of All Living, Hawwa is HER Name, which means “of the Serpent”; and Lilith is Eve’s Guiding Spirit, the Perfect Androgyny; the living current which flows through all things; the Great Mother of Many Names.

All gods and goddesses are reflections of the Divine un-knowable Tao, Great Spirit and Cosmic Mother. Regardless of any perceived differences, we are all of the same common origins, and were born of the same Mother. SHE has returned, to bring back sanity and restore balance and equality to the suffering peoples of this ravaged planet, as we enter the new Age of the Daughter..

Further commentaries on Leviathan in the Baba Batra, which is a book of commentaries on the Old Testament, include describing Her as full of illumination, both eyes and body. "By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning" (Baba Batra 1c)

(Note: So THAT’S why these folk stay away from Temple Illuminatus!)

 

The enormous size of the leviathan was described as such ~"Once we went in a ship and saw a fish which put his head out of the water. He had horns upon which was written: ‘I am one of the meanest creatures that inhabit the sea. I am three hundred miles in length, and enter this day into the jaws of the leviathan’” B.B 1c

Other similar texts describe the Great Serpent as having fiery breath enough to cause all the waters of the deep to boil, and as having an odor so offensive that no living being could ever stand it. Leviathan is particularly associated with the coming of the Jewish Messiah. It is made clear that only those who were not ever Pagans would benefit from the hunting of the Leviathan which is evidently supposed to occur during these messianic times.

The Angel Gabriel then assists God, who needs his help in subduing Leviathan and who will then cleave Leviathan in two, a favourite method aside from burning alive, smashing children’s heads against rocks and raping to death, of dispatching this God’s enemies, according to other Biblical writings. Elsewhere, it is said that when Gabriel fails in his task, God then makes the “Ox of the mountain” attack Leviathan, where after the two kill each other. This scenario will be to the great amusement and pleasure of the “righteous”. The same righteous folk will then be served up every conceivable part of the Leviathan’s body, and according to the Baba Batra, there will also be a large amount of leviathan meat for sale in the markets of Jerusalem, where the hide of Leviathan will be hung up to illuminate the whole world with much brightness. There will be tents, girdles, chains and necklaces made out of the hide of Leviathan, and these items are to be given to those who, in the appraisal of God, are ranked from first to fourth respectively according to a scale of devotion.

 

This feast of the Leviathan is seen as an allegory, and refers to a sustenance or nourishment which is far more than a literal piece of fish on a plate. It is clear that this nourishment is thus of a spiritual and intellectual substance.

Again we have a very clear inference to the Fish, which was always and is one of the sacred animals of the Great Goddess. The Fish as a symbol of the Great Mother far predates the use of Fish symbolism within any patriarchal religion, and the fish, with bread or corn represents the spiritual nourishment of the Great Mother.

So, in these passages we have the intent to slay the sacred beasts of the Great Goddess and God, coupled with the desire to then partake of the nourishment for themselves on their own terms, ie after Leviathan has been slain and smitten by the “righteous”.

Some commentators view the hunting of Leviathan to be the same as the hunting of Lilith ”the crooked Leviathan” and Samael ”the piercing leviathan”, while others view the entire mythos as concerning all elements which are hostile to the Jewish people and the eventual destruction of these.

 

Both leviathan and behemoth are also featured in the Apocalyptic literature of this religion, as being created by God on the fifth day in the revised, second story of creation in Genesis, and as being destined to be served up as food for the righteous on the ‘Day of Judgment’.

"And on that day were two monsters parted, a female monster named Leviathan, to dwell in the abysses of the ocean over the fountains of the waters. But the male is named Behemoth, who occupied with his breast a waste wilderness named Duidain." (1 Enoch 60:7-8)

 

We can see that the interpretations differ somewhat, as in certain texts, the Behemoth as well as the fish leviathan were to be served up in this great banquet of the righteous in the future. A bird was added called a "Ziz" which is believed by the Rabbis to be a gigantic bird (B. B. 73b).

Perhaps with the right seasoning, all parts of the spiritual whole could be consumed by some it seems.

A clear progression from Sumerian and Persian cosmology to the Jewish is evident, as it was originally in these areas that the sacred beasts of the Goddess were diabolized by the Zoroastrians, who as it is evident, had a strong influence on patriarchal Judaism as well as in Mohammedan eschatology, where a similar feasting is predicted.

This tradition indicates Persian influence, for it is of the Parsee cosmology that the existence of such primeval representatives of the classes of animals is a part. There are four such species mentioned in "Bundahis," xviii.-xix.: (1) "the serpent-like Kar fish, the Arizh of the water, the greatest of the creatures of Ahuramazda," corresponding to the leviathan; (2) the three-legged ass Khara, standing in the midst of the ocean ("Yasna," xli. 28); it is mentioned in the Talmud as the "unicorn ḳeresh," "ṭigras" (i.e., "thrigaṭ" = "three-legged"), the gazel of the heights (Ḥul. 59b), and forms, under the name "Ḥarish," in Mohammedan eschatology a substitute for behemoth and leviathan (see Wolff, " Muhammedanische Eschatologie," 1872, pp. 174, 181); (3) the ox Hadhayosh, from which the food of immortality is prepared, and which forms the parallel of behemoth; and (4) the bird Chamrosh, the chief of the birds, which lives on the summit of Mount Alburz (comp. "Bundahis," xix. 15); compare also Simurgh (Avesta "Saena Meregha," eagle-bird, griffin, Hebraized "Bar Yokneh"), the fabulous giant-bird, which the Rabbis identified with ziz (see Windischman, "Zoroastrische Studien," pp. 91-93; West, "Pahlavi Texts," in Max Müller, "S. B. E." v. 65-71)

Any contemporary Neo-Pagan student of metaphysics – in fact anyone who is familiar with the sacred beasts of the Great Goddess, will immediately be able to tell where these theologians got their information from, to be able to create these mythical evil beasts who are evidently destined to be slain by the Judeo-Christian God, salted and served up as nourishment for “The Chosen People” during the End of Days scenario.

 

Why were the Ziz Bird; the land-dwelling Behemoth; and the Dragon and Great Serpent Leviathan specifically chosen, out of thousands of animal species which share our living environment, as the symbols of evil in the new religions?

The Ziz Bird is the Zu Bird, the ancient Phoenix of Enlightenment. The Phoenix is the Zu-bird of the Huluppu Tree and the sacred bird called the Bennu bird, protected by the Goddess Nephthys within the City of Heliopolis. The Phoenix births the Cosmic Egg which is a contemporary and ancient Pagan Goddess and Ophite symbol of resurrection and immortality within the Greater Cycles of Existence.

The egg is of course, guarded by the Cosmic Serpent in ancient Legend until it hatches and all life emerges from within.

The Behemoth, Leviathan and Ziz Bird are , in reality, the sacred beasts of Pagan spirituality. These sacred animals appear as intimately associated with the Goddess and God of Nature since the very beginnings of the human race.

Behemoth was also described as a Hippopotamus, which seems out of sorts, unless one takes into account that as the Phoenix and Dark Goddess were to be demonized, then Taweret, the Hippo Goddess also known as the wife of Set, would probably have been included in the process by the Rabbis at the time, as was the Goddess Kali  identified with Lilith in a paradoxically correct fashion, though not in a very complimentary sense.

The Bull and crescent horns have always been the symbol of the Horned God. Actually, the Hebrews would worship Ba’al  the consort of the Goddess Anat and Fertility God of the Ancient Near East, in the way of the Bull and sacred Golden Calf before the patriarchal priests of Abraham decided to cut off the Hebrew people from continuing their ancestral worship of the Pagan Divinities so that the worship of the monotheistic Biblical God would dominate.

A much-concealed fact is that the ancient Pagan Hebrews and the people of Sumer before them also venerated the Bull and Calf , the Tree,  Dragon, The Serpent,  the Boar and the Phoenix, age-old Pagan Symbols and sacred creatures, as original tribal totems before the advent of monotheistic Dualism.
