Silence

I have gone to the woods many times

in search of quiet, solitude, and... silence.

I sat upon the earth, closed my eyes,

and breathed in deeply of nature around me.

I waited and I listened for the silence,

it did not come.

The trees above creaked, groaned and rustled

as the summer breezes lifted and played with their leaves.

A nearby creek sang its' soft lullaby,

the birds above were an angels chorus

and the wind whispered in my ear.

"Ah!" I thought, "So, this is silence...

the voice of the Creator".

And the thought occured to me

that, we are all a part of the silence.

When we smile, dance, sing, laugh, create,

and, love each other,

we are that voice.

Oh how I love the silence,
