Why I wish to join The Temple & how I found out about it...

I need a new appreciation for life, as I am sick of feeling indifferent to whether or not I wake up each morning. After opening up about this to my partner of one year, he hunted down this website from his early soul-searching years and recommend it to me.

About Myself & My Interests...

I come from a family of mental health issues and was subjected to a bit of childhood trauma. While dealing with developing some of those genetic health issues, the circumstances only made it worse. It went undiagnosed and I was discouraged from talking about it, due in part to my family's own unwillingness to seek help, and growing up in a specific area where most people don't see mental health as something that needs legitimate upkeep. Some of the most important things to me are culture, personal freedoms, preservation of art, and sexual freedom/education.

My Teachers & Influences, What was it about them that influenced me?

Their compassion for others and encouraging me to always be unapologetically myself.

Authors and/or Books I appreciate:

I honestly haven't actually read much since middle school, but I remember liking some pretty off the wall series like Vampirates and The Gatekeepers series. Other than that, I mostly only keep up with manga and webseries I like, Mob Psycho 100, One Punch Man, and Scoob and Shag come to mind.

Musicians and/or Music I appreciate:

Half•Alive, MF Doom, Aesop Rock, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, System of a Down, YOASOBI, Eve, and Run the Jewels.

Films and/or Film-Makers & Actors I appreciate:

Hayao Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon, Ryan Reynolds, Danny Devito, Jung Ho-yeon, Seán McLoughlin, Mark Fischbach, and Stephen King.

Artists and/or Art I appreciate:

Paintdust, Charles Dana Gibson, Vivziepop, Dan Harmon, One, and the really cool music festival advertisement posters throughout the 60's, 70's, and 80's that used to get ripped down as momentos by fans.
