The Search Through the Land of Ning Begins

I’m starting to fall in love with this site called Temple Illuminatus. But I’m getting way ahead of myself here. Let’s travel back to 2010 when ning sites were a social media sensation.

The very first ning site that I found, I don’t even remember how, absolutely blew my mind. It primarily discussed the problems and solutions of being an empath of which I consider myself one of. This site also dealt with a number of other supernatural topics that have played a part in my life ever since childhood. Never in my life had I felt so at home as I did in Elises Empath Community. Here were literally thousands of people from across the world that shared my beliefs and convictions. Here for the first time I felt like I had found my spiritual home, my true tribe! Unfortunately, the time and cost of the site was too much to bare for its creator and so she shut it down. I was devastated at first because I felt like I had lost my spiritual crutch.

Jumping ahead to 2019 facebook was overpowering everything in its webpath. And so I tried to adjust by joining similar groups that I had once belonged too in the Empath Community. However the spiritual, paranormal, supernatural, and empathic nature of these groups just did not translate well, in my opinion, to the facebook design formula. They always felt lost between politics and the greed of every advertiser in the world who saw a quick buck. And it still feels that way, if not more so to me now, now that it’s the Meta world instead. And so I decided that I needed a new spiritual internet home.

As I began my search it didn’t take long to realize that it was going to be bittersweet. Though there are still a few ning sites that deal in the spiritual realm they are far and few between. And after searching through every word that I could think of along the spiritual paranormal supernatural subject line, I finally settled on a couple that seemingly held promise. But then another awareness quickly became obvious. Just because a site still has a large membership doesn’t mean that it still has an active membership. And in a few sites that I joined those people that were still active were more negative then positive which was something I never encountered back on my earlier empath experience. In a few instances I had members who were trying to change my beliefs that are pretty rock solid at this point in my life. And so my search continued!
