DIARY OF A LIAR Part 8 Sex Versus Black Walnut Ice Cream

      I have NEVER been disappointed in a dish of Black Walnut ice cream in my life . Sex , on the other hand... 

      Having grown up in a pretty sexually repressed Roman Catholic environment I was in no way prepared for the so called Sexual Revolution of the 1960s . I had been groomed for Obedience to Holy Mother Church and the battle between this and emerging adolescent sexuality AND the cultural changes going on at the time made for a very muddled and often embarrassing sexual " education " . I envied my Protestant friends whose fathers had a hidden stash of Playboys in the basement . 

      To try and add an element of " sanctity " to my teenage horniness I established some pretty unreal expectations concerning romance and was most bitterly disappointed when I began having relationships with real live girls .  A WHOLE LOT of  " sure wasn't expecting that " turned into too much disappointment for me so at a relatively early point in my life I stopped pursuing my romantic ideal .

    Now this , thankfully , isn't everyone's story . 

    Anyway...

    I may have written a similar blog a while back .

    My passions are otherwise directed these days into art and the overall study of everything .  Finding something you love to do and spending your days doing it is a good way to bring magic and romance into your life until just maybe the romantic ideal unexpectedly comes along .

     Just some thoughts .
